A pretty black she-cat padded out of a brambley bush, gently she shook herself then bounded across the clearing towards the warriors den. Standing on her toes, she yowled, "THORNSTRIKE?!" Then she began pacing by the mouth of the den awaiting her mentor.
With a disgruntled sigh the yowled again, "THORNSTRIKE!! I want to go hunting." Rolling her eyes she glanced around the camp half the clan was already awake, and more than one of them were shooting her annoyed glares.
Eaglepaw didn't care though, she never cared about her clanmates opionions. She found them old fashioned. She returned some of the glares with an annoyed look. If doesn't hurry up, I'm so outta here, she thought.

Thornstrike's eyes glimmered softly when he heard his apprentice. She seemed very impatient, she did. But that didnt' bother him much. It was very apprentice-like.
"Calm down!" He chuckled as the young warrior pulled himself to his feet. Thornstrike shook out his tabby pelt, remembering his first day as an apprentice. It had been exciting.
"Alright, alright. You wanna go hunting? Lets hunt then. I was planning out a session anyway, might as well start with some hunting. After that how about some battle training?" In reality, the tom wanted this to be a really great day, so he was going to leave it mostly up to her. He was such a pushover like that.
"Is there a particular place you'd like to hunt?" Thornstrike asked her, wondering if he would have to teach her the borders along the way.

Eaglepaw hopped up and down, "If we spend all day discussing the plans all the good prey will be back in it's nest's. Can we go now? Her pretty green eyes, glimmered as she lashed her tail... she couldn't wait to get going.
With a grumble the pretty she-cat bounded across the clearing, towards the entrance and skidded to a stop. She'd only end up sorting out the elders if she charged out of camp with out waiting on Thornstrike- and that was a price she wasn't willing to pay.

Thornstrike's whiskers twitched in amusement as he padded towards the camp entrance after his apprentice. The other warriors were right, the tabby tom had his paws full when he took on this cat. But he didn't mind. He was going to manage one way or another. "Alright, alright. I'm coming. But unless you know where you're going I'm leading. He chuckled.

The little black she-cat curled up her tail and bounced around her mentor chattering. "Alright, where are we going? What are we hunting? Oooh can we hunt a fox? Or maybe a badger? But let's eat before we do that? Since we are just going out do we have to feed the elders before we eat technically? I hope Stormpaw(see end credit)* has tons of fun cleaning out the elders den while I'm out hunting. "
On and on, Eaglepaw chattered as she followed Thornstrike out of camp. She scarcely even looked around her, as she acted like a newborn kit for it's first time in the camp.

Thornstrike's whiskers twitched again in amusement as he tried to answer all her questions and respond to all of her comments. "I'm not sure about where or what we're hunting. I don't think it'd be safe to hunt a fox or badger. If we're not hunting them, we don't need to eat before-hand. We have to catch enough to feed the elders, and then maybe ourselves. I don't think that'd be any fun for Stormpaw."
Thornstrike finally just stopped bothering to reply.

Eaglepaw shot a frustrated look at her mentor, " I'd rather hunt a badger. Mice are borrrring." Her pretty green eyes narrowed as she looked seriously at him. Why would she even be interested in boring old hunting.
She sulkily stopped bouncing around her mentor and started to pad behind him, an annoyed look on her face. Why did she always have to hunt for the elders, which in any case wasn't very fun. At least she wasn't stuck caring for the elders, and that in it's self was a blessing. The elders were always extra cranky with the apprentices.

Thornstrike looked over at her, a tiny smile flitting across his muzzle. He knew what she was thinking. "You know..." He murmured to her, "The elders really aren't that bad. How would you feel knowing that you had to rely on apprentices to take care of you? Don't worry, one day you'll be an elder too. Maybe then you can be nice to them so they don't feel as irritated as you do."He knew a lot of small things like that.

Eaglepaw shot a disgruntled look at her mentor. She was only 6 moons. She didn't want to think about being an elder for seasons yet. With a smirk on her face she mewed, "I guess you think about being and elder now that you're so old." Though it sounded mean, she said it in a joking manner, and pelted away from her mentor in case he decided to retalitate.
As she raced through the pine trees, she felt her heart soar. If only she could run forever... and it was with that thought that she tripped over a tree root and came crashing to the forest floor. Dazed the she-cat stumbled back to her paws, only to fall down again. "Fox-Dung! she yowled. Her head throbbed from hitting the ground, and her paw felt like it was on fire. Holding it close to her stomache, she tried to stand up again, and finally succeeded.

Out of Character: Sorry, I've had internet troubles, but they are resolved now.
In Character:
Thornstrike cursed under his breath and darted after his apprentice, his paws moving quickly as he tried to catch up with her. He could not lose her, could not let her get hurt.
When his eyes fell on her he relaxed and let out a breath, but soon winced when he saw that her paw was up against her stomach. She'd hurt her paw. Thornstrike closed his eyes for a second, then padded up to her. "How's the paw?" The warrior grumbled, not really needing an answer. "Lets get you back to camp." The tabby murmured. This would set them back a bit training-wise, but not enough to cause worry.

Eaglepaw let out a hiss as she placed her paw on the ground and winced slightly in pain. "No. I'm fine, let's hunt." With a grumble she limped forward pushing past her mentor. The little black she-cat was to headstrong to admit that she was actually hurt. Taking a deep breath as if she was resuming her hunt she scented rabbit. "Thornstrike! Rabbit!" she whispered, and dropped into a funny looking crouch. Stalking forward slowly, her lame paw caught in a bramble and she jerked it forward and a loud snapping noise. The rabbit jerked it's head up and darted off. Dejectedly, Eaglepaw sat down on her haunches, her head low. She had hurt her paw and missed a large catch. Could this day get any worse? As if StarClan was responding to her silent question, a drop of rain fell on her head and a flash of lightning ripped through the forest. words:156

Thornstrike shook his head at the apprentice, giving her a tiny look of amused disapproval. He watched at the rabbit got away, and his ears flattened as the lightning lit up the sky. Knowing that she was upset, the tom padded over to her and sat next to her, his gaze soft and understanding.
"Hey, don't be down. No reason to be so upset. Look, we all have our down days. Not like you could stop that rain, not like you could move that root. I'm sure that there've been times when I missed that rabbit too." He smiled softly at her. "Now, how's that paw? Don't want you missing too much training, so before you mess it up some more lets get you to camp. The Medicine Cat'll fix you up in an instant."
OOC: But wait... There isn't one. =D Oh well.

The black she-cat looked up at her mentor hollowly She felt as if she had ruined his day. He had planned the whole day out, and because of a tree root, she probably wouldn't be training for a few days Well, she thought bitterly, I guess it'll give Stripedpaw some practice. Looking up at her mentor with wide green eyes she sighed, " I'm sorry Thornstrike."
No matter how many times her mentor tried to deny it, and how he triled to console her, she couldn't accept that. Ever. A throbbing pain ripped through her paw as she shook it slightly. How was she going to get back to camp like this?

OOC: Neither do I... Whatever then. Aw, I feel bad for Eaglepaw!
IC: Thornstrike shook his head, "I said don't worry about it. He told her gruffly, trying and failing to look scary and menacing. He looked at her paw, then frowned, thinking. "Here, stand up, but keep your paw held up. I'll see if I can support you back to camp. If not I'll go get them and you can stay here and wait." Thornstrike knew that it sounded pathetic and crazy, but he knew that they had to try something.

OOC: It's Fawnzie I think
Eaglepaw looked up at her mentor, then stood slowly. Letting him support some of her wieght, she was thankful that she was such a small cat. Her tail dragging the ground, she looked into his eyes and muttered, "I'm ready."
The black she-cat's paw was already swelling, and throbbing horribly. She looked up at Thornstrike, waiting for him to decide that he was ready. Feeling worse than she had in moons, the little cat sighed miserably.
