"It's fine," she meowed, licking the top of her kit's head. "But you should've told me that you were going to play....with Foxstar." she meowed kindly. Though the tabby she-cat looked up curiously at the ginger leader. She hadn't thought Foxstar was one to play moss-ball with kits. After a few moments of silence she purred "Don't worry Foxstar. I won't tell anyone you were playing with Thistlekit."

Thistlekit purred happily when his mother forgave him and pressed his tiny nose into her fur. "I'm sorry, Momma, I'll ask next time." he vowed, a playful gleam in his eyes as he took a step back to look at his mother. He loved Featherflight dearly, and wanted to act his best around her, so that she would be proud of him. Then when she told Foxstar that she wouldn't tell anyone they were playing, Thistlekit couldn't help but frown sadly. "Why wouldn't you tell anyone?" he squeaked in confusion. Did Foxstar dislike him?

"Oh..." Featherflight meowed, her voice trailing off. She knew Foxstar was a little prideful, but didn't want to say that outloud. "It's just that Foxstar doesn't normaly play with kits like he did with you." she replied kindly after a moment of silence.

Thistlekit paused for a moment, as if taking a moment to nthink abtou Featherflight's reasoning, then brightened. "Oh, okay! I can tell Lilykit and Hawkkit all about it!" he purred, brushing against his mother's leg happily before rushing off towards the Nursery. He couldn't wait to tell his brother and sister about the game of mossball he played with Foxstar!

| [style=padding:5px; text-align:justify;] FOXSTAR LET OUT A LONG SIGH OF RELIEF AS HE HEARD THAT FEATHERFLIGHT WOULDN'T TELL ANYONE, but when Thistlekit complained about it, he felt sort of ashamed of himself. He'd just hurt this small cat's feelings! The leader tapped Thistlekit's spotted back apoligetically with his tail. However, when the kit rushed off to the nursery, Foxstar felt his whole body tense up to run after him, but he told hismelf to calm down. It was onyl a few kits. Spottedpelt emerged from the warriors' den, her calico pelt bright with optimism. She had been hoping to go on a hunting patrol with Badgerstep, and forget the tense atmosphere around the Clans for once. She trotted up to Foxstar, and noticed a strage expression on his face. She gave Featherflight a curt nod of greeting before dipping her head before Foxstar in a respective gesture. "Good morning, Foxstar," she greeted her leader casually. "Are there any patrols that I may acompany?" she asked, anticipation hinting in her silver eyes.

"Thistlekit?" Lilykit raised her head up from where it have been resting on he paws. He broher had just come rushing through the Nursery entrance. "Thanks for waking me up." she grumbled, standing up. Her fluffy brown tail curled over the creamy kit's paws and she kept her gaze on her brother.

Thistlekit ignored Lilykit's annoyance and instead gave her a wide grin. "You'll never believe what I just did!" he squeaked, nearly bursting in joy. He was probably the first one to ever had played mossball with their Clan leader. Though he couldn't help remember how Featherflight had told Foxstar that she wouldn't tell anyone about their short game. Why would any of his Clan mates care if they found out?

"What did you do?" Hawkkit asked, sitting up. The brown tabby kit's eyes gleamed with curiousity. Thistlekit was right, he couldn't guess. "Did Poppyfur tell you a story?" he asked, saying the first thing that popped into his head. Poppyfur was one of the clan's elders, she loved telling them stories about when she was a warrior.

Thistlekit was fidgeting in amusement by now as his brother and sister were guessing what he did just a few moments earlier. "No! That's kits' play compared to this!" he pressed on, his eyes gleaming with mischief. "I played mossball..." he started, leaning forwards to add to the suspense. "... with Foxstar!" he squeaked, his eyes shining.

"Foxstar?" Hawkkit echoed, pausing for a moment. When had a leader ever played Moss-ball with a kit? A kit that wasn't even theirs?
"Lucky," Lilykit meowed, envy in her voice. How come I couldn't come play moss-ball with them? Though the creamy she-cat knew the answer. She was sleeping. "Whay did you leave your precious game of moss-ball to come talk to us?" she asked.

Thistlekit raised his chin and tail nhigh in the air arrogantly. "Yeah, it was so fun!" he bragged, waving his tail around. Though Lilykit's next question caught him off track, and the corners of his mouth turned down into a frown. "Um.. because he was busy." he lied. He realized that maybe Foxstar didn't like him, and didn't want to play mossball with a dumb kit like him.

"Okay then." Lilykit meowed suspicously, though the kitten decided to drop it. Who really cared why Thistlekit stopped playing with their leader. "Sooo, what do you wanna do now?" she asked, looking around for ideas.
"There's plenty of things to do." Hawkkit pointed out, padding closer to his talking siblings.

Thistlekit frowned as in deep thought. "I dunno.." he muttered bluntly. Then an idea formed in his tiny mind. "Let's sneak out of camp!" he whispered, suddenly glancing around as though to make sure no one was listening. He wasn't usually this adventurous, but even he needed to do something crazy every now and then. Besides, it wouldn't be fun as an apprentice because you're allowed to go out of camp.

| [style=padding:5px; text-align:justify;] FOXSTAR COULDN'T HELP BUT LISTEN IN ON THE KITS' CONVERSATION. Every now and then he'd let out a small chuckle. He found it slightly amusing how incredulous the other kits were about the idea of Foxstar playing with Thistlekit. Foxstar lashed his tail at Thistlekit's lie. It made his feel ashamed for being so sheepish about playing with Thistlekit. It had probably hurt the black and white kit's feelings, now that he thought about it. Foxstar was about to walk in and give his apologies when he heard their plans to escape from the camp. The large red tom let out a low growl and shook his head.
It was for this reason he didn't like kits or young apprentices. They were so immature and lived for breaking the rules that he himself enforced. It was almost as if they thought themselves better than him. If only I could teach them a lesson, he thought, then maybe they would halt their little games once and for all Foxstar blinked as a lightbulb when off in his head. What if I let them get out and punish them later? Then maybe they wouldn't try to break the rules! A smile crept across his face. This plan would work, he was sure of it. He'd just have to follow the kits to make sure they don't get hurt and then find them tot have them punished. Foxstar was already thinking of the possiblities. Should I make them wait one more moon to become an apprentice? Or maybe they could be given apprentice duties early, since they're so eager to become apprentices, but using the jobs that no one likes? Foxstar stood up and walked away tot he other side of camp as he was thinking, where he could watch the kits until they made their move.[/style] | [atrb=style,border-top:5px solid #000000;]tag(s): word count: notes:
