Silkpelt yawned, stretching in her nest. The multi-colored she-cat padded out of the Warriors Den ready for the day ahead of her. She blinked for a few moments once she entered the clearing, her eyes had to ajust to the light. The creamy pawed warriors realized she had an apprentice to train, so she rushed over the the Tree-Stump where they apprentices slept.
"Duskpaw," she called softly, hoping to only wake the dark tom and not the other apprentices huddled around the brown stump.

Duskpaw shifted in his nest, but otherwise didn't wake, his tail curled around his nose. His legs were twitching strangely and his breathes came out uneven and quick. His claws were unseathed, and he seemed to be working them into his mossy nest. The pale brown tabby was barely aware of Silkpelt.
OOC:: Sorry, no muse.

"Uh, Duskpaw?" the creamy pawed warrior meowed, a little louder than before. She padded over to the dark apprentice and prodded him in the side. Is he OK? She was a little worried, his breathing was loud and it didn't sound right. She also noticed his twitching tail and unsheathed claws. He must be having a nightmare.

The rank stench of blood filled Duskpaw's nostrils, and he stared around in panick, not being able to see a thing in the dark atmosphere. "Mother!" he shrieked, his eyes wide with horror. Finally, the dark mist cleared enough for Duskpaw to make out the shape of his mother's body on the ground with another form hunched over beside her. The other cat suddenly looked at Duskpaw and he could barely make out a smug look on the cat's face. Yellow eyes gleamed at him as the cat began to stalk toward him. "N-no, no! What did you do to Momma?! No!" his jaws gaped in a silenced shriek. "Don't worry," an eerie voice came from the advancing cat. "I won't hurt you."
Duskpaw's eyes flew open and he instantly sat up straight, the sound of the cat's shrill laugh ringing in his ears. He didn't notice Silkpelt, who was standing in front of him, until a few moments after he realized it was only a drem - or actually - a nightmare. His yellow eyes burnt into Silkpelt's, glazed with a hollow grief and sheer horror.

"Duskpaw are you okay?" Silkpelt asked worridly, here eyes willed with confusion and concer. It must've been a really horrifing nightmare because her apprentice look like he'd almost been ran over by a monster. What could he dream that would be that bad?

OOC:: Just saying, the dream was about his mother being murdered by his father.
Duskpaw felt his entire body trembling in fear and could feel the strength flowing out of his limbs. His gaze was fixed on Silkpelt's concerned blue eyes, and memories of his mother flooded into his mind. He almost closed his eyes as flashbacks of the wamrth he felt as he lay by his mother's side, and her gentle blue eyes as she sang him a lullaby to sleep. Then the bittersweet memories turned into violent ones. A large tom clawing at Duskpaw's mother, hissing and spitting at her while she stood over him protectively.
Suddenly, Duskpaw collapsed into Silkpelt's fur and began to sob, sniffling with his breathes coming out un-even. He shut his eyes tightly as tears streamed down his cheeks, and felt the fur along his spine bristle as the eerie laugh rang through his ears once more.

OCC: That's what I figured
"Duskpaw..." Silkpelt's voice trailed off as her apprentice dug into her fur. She curled her tail around the tom, trying to comfort him. "Is everything okay?" she asked softly, not trying to force the answer out of him. She was just plain curious.

OOC:: Sorry, just saying. :I
Duskpaw felt somewhat soothed by Silkpelt's gentle words, but felt more pain grasp his heart as her voice reminded him of his mother. "M-momma... H-h-he promised... n-not to.. to.." his words came out choppy and grief-striken. He couldn't help himself, behaving like he was, but when something like this happened to you, you wouldn't be sniffing the flowers so joyfully just then.

OCC: No problem Momma? Silkpelt had a puzzled look on her face. Then she realized something, Duskpaw had been found abandoned in the forest. So he must be talking out his loner mother. But who was "he"?

OOC:: Poor Duskpaw... and Cloudwing.
He suddenly realized that it was not his mother who he was pressing against, but instead, his mentor, Silkpelt. His eyes flew open in surprise and he fell backwards onto his haunches, landing on his scattered nest. "S-Silkpelt!" he sputtered, his face growing hot from embarrassment. His fur was damp from where his tears fell, and grief still controlled part of his mind and heart at the moment. Seeing Silkpelt was almost a wake-up call for him, and he tried to pull himself together.

OCC: ...
"It's okay." Silkpelt meowed quietly, she almost, sort of, liked the moment of comfort. "I-if you don't feel up to doing anything today that's alright." she murmured, her calm blue eyes gazing at Duskpaw. She wasn't exactly sure what to say to the apprentice, Silkpelt noticed the tom's damp face, he'd been crying. But the multi-color she-cat wasn't sure what about. The only clues she had was his stammering "Momma" and "he".

Duskpaw felt comforted by Silkpelt's gentle words, and seemed to have calmed down a bit. "N-no, I'm fine." he protested, his breathing slowly becoming normal again. That was the third night in a row he had had that same nightmare, and couldn't restrain his feelings until now. "What are we doing today?" he asked half-heartedly, his voice still shaking a bit.

"How about battle training?" she suggested, knowing that might cheer the tom up. Most apprentices loved battle training. Perhaps some other mentor and apprentie could go with them. Silkpelt didn't see any other apprentices curled around the stump, but maybe they were out in the clearing.

OOC:: I can give him Shadowclaw. o3o And I thought Sandpaw, Squirrelpaw and Pricklepaw were in SC..?
Duskpaw took a deep breathe before replying, "Sure." Maybe if he took his mind off things and trained would lift his spirits; or at least he could try. "Maybe we could ask Pricklepaw or.." he added, but trailed off lamely. He still didn't know some of his Clan mates' names, which made him feel embarassed.

"Wildpaw's out on patrol." she reminded the tom. "We can just go along. Maybe later some cats will join us." she decided.
