Honeyfang wrapped her pink tongue over her paw and dragged it behind her ear. She gave a long yawn and looked about for some company. It was late afternoon, she had put a good few pieces into the fresh kill pile, eaten her fill. Now all she needed was a bit of companionship and her day would be just dandy. she watched as her clanmates went about doing mundane tasks and running about. Such a life, being a warrior. She couldn't even imagine how cats lived outside the clans, especially shadowclan, the greatest clan in the forest! She gave a purr at this thought and went back to grooming her already perfect pelt. Wouldnt the forest be even better if Shadowclan ruled it all?

Spottedpelt trotted into the marshy camp clearing, dropping a scrawny lizard onto the pile. She was quite disappointed in her catch, and wondered why the prey was beginning to become so scarce these warm, new-leaf days. Especially when green-leaf was approaching.
Deciding to hold that thought for later, her original plan was to go take a well-earned nap in the warriors' den, but on the way there she noticed Honeyfang looking rather lonely. Tilting her head slightly to the side in curiosity, Spottedpelt changed course and instead padded up to the pretty she-cat.
"Hi, Honeyfang!" she meowed a friendly greeting, sitting down across from Honeyfang. She gave her chest a few brief licks before continuing, "How was your day today?" It was the most common phrase used when one desired to spark a conversation, and Spottedpelt wasn't very keen on it. She would've greeted any other Clan mate with a more interesting response, but for this one time she was tired and unwilling to put effort into her words.

Crimsonleaf padded into the camp with Pumkinpaw on her heels. Arg, I hate this apprentice and this who clan thing. She thought. That was the best border patrol ever! Can we do it again? Pumkinpaw asked crimsonleaf bouncing around happily. Crimsonleaf rolled her eyes and walked into the warriors den.

Honeyfang smiled in greeting, realizing that her clanmate had noticed the bored vibe she was giving off. She blinked showing her appreciation for the company and responded, "Hello Spottedpelt. My day's going alright, pray was running a bit scarce this morning, I had to go twice as far as usual to find anything." Not that she was lazy or anything, but she was rather used to getting lucky and finding pray within a short distance from camp. It had taken her half way across the territory before she stumbled upon a crow picking at some twoleg rubbish they had tossed carelessly on the ground. Mousebrained twolegs! "You look tired" she observed, taking a closer look at Spottedpelt.
Honeyfang watched Crimsonleaf disappear and her attention shifted to Pumpkinpaw who was dancing around with energy. "Anything exciting on the borders?" She purred knowing the apprentice would probably want to talk all about it.

Spottedpelt nodded in slight interest as Honeyfang gave a brief review of her day, and she rolled her eyes when she mentioned the scarcity of prey. "I agree, it's been low all day! I had to put up quite a fight over a scrawny little lizard," she mused scornfully, indicating to the very lizard she had caught earlier that was on the pile of fresh-kill.
When she changed the subject however, Spottedpelt was a bit relieved. She wasn't very interested, and she didn't want to admit how tired she was. She guessed that maybe Pumpkinpaw's day had been a bit more fun and lively. She turned around to face the apprentice and curled her tail around her paws as she waited for him to immediately dive into his story.

Pumkinpaw turned his head to the warriors and went over to them.Well seeing the territory was just awesome! The birds and tree's and all the other animals. Plus we saw Thunderclanners across the Thunderpath. They looked like they wanted to kill. But anyways After that we saw a dead fox and I touched it! [/b] He said hyperly.[/blockquote]

Honeyfang could never imagine touching a dead fox making her day, but the young apprentices enthusiasm made her smile. The clan needed smart, strong warriors to survive, and Pumpkinpaw seemed very enthusiastic about learning. Any scent of live foxes? or just the dead one? She secretly hoped there would be a fox in need of chasing off, she loved a good foxhunt. Yuck, thunderclanners! Softest cats in the forest, make sure you remember their sent because they are trouble. Always trying to tell the other clans what to do with their softness and thought that the forest should be fair. a purr rumbled in her throat. Sounds like you had a good patrol though, Pumpkinpaw.

Spottedpelt wrinkled her nose in disgust at the thought of laying one of her delicate paws on a dead fox. Though it seemed to her that Pumpkinpaw was uneffected by her expression, and she decided not to argue with the enthusiastic apprentice.
Silently agreeing with Honeyfang, she wondered what the ThunderClanners would be doing right about now. Could it be possible that they were just normal cats like themselves? No, surely it wasn't true. "If a family of kittypets wandered into their territory, they would beg them to join their Clan," she sniffed disdainfully, holding her chin high as if she were showing off how better she was than ThunderClan.

Pumkinpaw agreed with them. It was true that they were soft. So what are you two doing? He asked them. He looked around to see what there was to do but there was nothing. So he decided to sit by honeyfang.

Honeyfang nodded in agreement, thunderclan was always taking in stray cats that wandered onto their territory. There was no purity in Thunderclan, just a bunch of kitypets and loners. Disgusting.
Honeyfang Arched her back and rose to her paws Well I was taking a rest, but I'm feeling a second wind coming on. Would either of you be interested in going out to try for more prey? Starclan knows the pile could use it.

Spottedpelt did not want to continue their conversation on the dishonorable ThunderClanners, so she instantly straightened up at the mention of hunting. "No kidding, it's like StarClan are punishing us for some reason," she meowed suddenly, and then frowned at herself. She suddenly felt a chill run down her spine. Somehow, her words felt omninously true. Shaking the feeling off, Spottedpelt rose to her paws and grinned. "Pumpkinpaw, wanna come along?" she asked, shooting Honeyfang a look as if saying, "If that's alright with you".

The tom's eyes lit up with excitement.I would love to assist you ladies He said and then got up and padded to the entrance of the territory.

Honeyfang nodded, and allowed the apprentice to lead off out of camp. Absently, she allowed her mind to wander to the occasion when she and a patrol had chased off a fox into windclan territory. She shook her head, clearing her pointless thoughts and focused on the task ahead, to feed the clan. Spottedpelt's words about starclan punishing us troubled her though, starclan would have no reason to punish Shadowclan! They hadn't done anything wrong!

Spottedpelt got up as Honeyfang did, and followed her and Pumpkinpaw to the bramble tunnel that served as an entrance to the camp. As she squeezed through the brambles, she couldn't stop thinking about what she'd said earlier, about StarClan punishing them. Surely it wasn't true? And if it was, what had ShadowClan ever done to deserve this?
