It was finally time for the two eldest WindClan kits to become apprentices. They had been through so much with their endless energy, it was now or never....and it would be a good thing to put that energy to use other than sneaking out of camp. After making sure the clan was organized, and there was patrols going out and in, the leader could rest a little easier. He had been doing quite well as leader, despite not being leader for too long, and was glad his clan was thriving.
Looking toward the TallRock, Blizzardstar realized he better not put this off any longer. Bunching his muscles, and jumping onto the rock he began the familiar greeting to the clan, used for so many moons. "All those old enough to catch their own prey, join me under the TallRock for a clan meeting."
his voice was loud and clear, making sure to get all the cats in the clan to come. It was always a happy time to see new apprentices being made.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

Embergaze perked his ears up at Blizzardstar's call, and he bounded over to sit below the Tallrock and let his curious gaze travel up to his leader. What could the ceremony possibly be for? Then he realized that Willowkit, Ospreykit and Emberkit were old enough to be apprenticed. So they're already apprentices, huh? he thought to himself, wondering how much trouble they would get in to with their new powers.

Hawktalon perked his ears from the rabbit he was sharing with Rose, licking the bunny fur off his jaws. "Looks like a clanmeeting is starting!" he meowed, lashing his tail.
"Clanmeeting?" Rose asked, sitting up. She had only been with WindClan for only two days, so she had no idea what a clanmeeting was.
"Its when the leader(Blizzardstar) calls the clan together to share important news, to make new apprentice(s), or to turn them into warriors." the brown tabby explain, getting to his paws. "We don't want to miss it!"

A brown and white tabbied kit bounced out of the nursery, fluffy fur awry. He was a difinite furball, and he would probably never grow out of his over-average-length fur. Ospreykit's large paws were too large for his body, a sign he was about to have a growth spurt.
"This ceremony has to be for us!" he mewled excitedly, eyes shining. Then he frowned slightly. If it isn't, I'm going to go mad," he commented to no one in particular, an aggitated look on his face. About time they get around to making us apprentices, he thought.

Cedarfang watched in amusement as Ospreykit bounced out of the nursery, and she surpressed a giggle when she noticed how his paws were disproportional compared to the rest of his body.
A particular thought came across her mind, seeing that she had became mates with Nightblaze so suddenly, that made her tense a bit. Would she have kits like that one day? With.. with Nightblaze? she wondered, suddenly feeling joy and excitement tingle through her paws. No, she wasn't ready to discuss something like that, especially when their relationship began only a few days ago.

"Come on Rose, let's try to get a seat up front!" Hawktalon meowed, the brown tabby heading to the other side of camp to find a spot near TallRock. Rose followed more slowly, taking the time to scan the camp with her pinkish-red eyes. Just as she was about to find where Hawktalon sat down, she bumped into the one cat she had hoped not to meet: Eaglescreech. "I'm sorry, I didn't see you." the albino she-cat said, dippping her head.

Eaglescreech felt something bump into his chest, and he stumbled backwards, resulting in dropping the mouse he had been carrying in his jaws. "Watch where you're going, mouse-brain," he hissed angrily, fixing Rose a cold glare before bending down to pick up his prey.
"Shut-up, fat-tail. You've been stuffing yourself with prey all day, go do something useful for once," an annoyed snarl sounded from behind Eaglescreech, and he turned to face Embergaze. "Why you - !" he spat, digging his claws into the ground. Embergaze only stood there, his eyes narrowed down to slits.

Her blue eyes opened gently, and she was depressed to realize that she couldn't see the world around her, as always. The tortoiseshell tabby had just stirred from a dream, a wonderful dream. She was running across the territory, colors of all kinds filling her gaze during this beautiful time of year. Her coat ran freely as she sprinted alongside her brother. She was the warrior she literally always dreamed she could be. But as she woke up, the sudden realization hit her again; she'd never be able to be a normal warrior. Even if she did try to follow that path, she'd need special training and it require just too much effort to try and fit in with everyone else. The objective of becoming the medicine cat was much easier and pleasing. She had never liked the idea of hurting other cats to gain something for herself anyway. Besides, she had already approached Blizzardstar on the matter, and then it was settled. She'd never be a warrior apprentice. Never.
As she heard, Blizzardstar's call, her heart leapt inside of her. Today was the day she'd finally become an apprentice! Emberkit bounded excitedly out of the nursery, snorting indignantly as a leaf hit her head on. Now, what was that doing there? Emberkit thought innocently. I don't remember a leaf sticking out of the nursery wall. Emberkit tried to take her anger out on the stupid leaf. She attempted to smack the leaf playfully, as a punishment almost, but she knew she had missed because she did not feel her paw hit her mark. Emberkit walked away slowly as if nothing had happened, hoping no one had noticed her quite embarrassing mini failure.
Emberkit padded onward with her head held high, her chest swelling with pride. She could smell the other cats easily. The torbie scented Hawktalon, Rose, and Eaglescreech before her. The older kit made a note to take a wide circle around Eaglescreech; he was never one to be forgiving. The she-kit scented the air again as she walked, detecting Embergaze and Cedarfang. Cedarfang had waves of exuberance coming off of her; Emberkit could feel it. she was obviously happy about something. As she tiptoed around the congenial she-cat, she perceived the prescence of her denmate, Ospreykit. When Emberkit bounded up beside the long-furred tom-kit and gave him a friendly nudge, she couldn't help but notice the vibes of excitement and slight anticipation coming from him. This ceremony has to be for us! If it isn't, I'm going to go mad, |
Ospreykit spoke, Emberkit stifling a giggle at the comment. The tom sure knew how to use a hyperbole. The torbie she-kit tapped him with her tail. "Well aren't you excited," Emberkit mewled quietly, smiling contently. Soon after, she gazed up at the spot in the darkness she presumed Blizzardstar was located. She hoped she wasn't staring off in some random direction, because that would be more than embarrassing. tagged :: You know who you are... notes :: *blink* Wait, what was thequestion again? Eaglescreech noticed Emberkit as she walked past him with her chin and tail held high defiantly, and he snorted. Kits, he rolled his eyes. Not wanting to be in Embergaze's presence any longer, he turned and retreated off to the warriors' den. As if he was going to watch a few annoying kits be apprenticed. It was a waste of time anyway, he reminded himself as he vanished into the bushes that formed the warriors' den.D

Ospreykit turned around, noticing Emberkit as she replied to his side comment. "I am excited," he meowed cheerfully. We've been waiting forever. We finally get to be apprentices," the now-slightly-larger tabby said. He had hit a smaller growth spurt a couple of days ago, and was starting to look more like an apprentice than a kit.
He then shook his head, flicked his tail impaitently, and ran up to sit under the TallRock. Ospreykit looked up at Blizzardstar, eyes shining with excitement. Get on with the ceremony, I want to be an apprentice already.

The call of Blizzardstar rung through the WindClan camp, and Smokepaw's attention was instantly grasped. For a few minutes she had been laying in the apprentice's den in a half-awake state, but this really made her leap to her paws. She supposed it would be the apprenticeship of two certain kits, and she felt a warmness pulse through her as she fondly remembered when she had received her apprentice name. It had only been very recently, for the young she-cat was still six moons of age. She felt happy for the kits and padded happily out of the den.
The young cat moved with some confidence, but it was impossible not to acknowledge that she still looked around at the cats around her, in horror that she'd find somebody staring at the scars that patterned her lithe body. She was incredibly self-conscious about these permanent wounds, the marks of a viscous badger attack that had occurred when she was a kit. Although Smokepaw had gotten over the initial terror of that event, she was still very wary about her appearance, and therefore fretted about how everyone else perceived her.
Already, many cats had been to gather beneath the Tallrock, all of them keen to watch the ceremony. She overheard the cheerful meows of Ospreykit as he announced his excitement to the other kit who was about to be apprenticed, Emberkit. Smokepaw was only young herself, but seeing the anticipated kits shuffling impatiently made her feel a lot more experienced than she actually was. She sat herself down calmly and shot another glance at the two kits. Smokepaw smiled friendlily at them. Good luck, she thought silently. This positive start to the day had put her in a good mood, and she comfortably curled her tail around her paws.

Willowkit grinned as she heard the sound that she had been waiting to hear. Finally it was time to be an apprentice. Both Ospreykit and herself had been talking about this nonstop, and it probably wasn't unlikely that the cats of the clan were sick of hearing them talking about becoming apprentice...maybe that is why Blizzardstar finally chose to do so. The energetic little kit bounded after her brother, not too far behind. Neither of them had groomed their fur, then again it was rare for Willowkit to care. Her fluffy gray fur was in all directions, but she didn't care, it was apprentice time!
Sitting next to her brother and Emberkit, she realized they would be joined by the other kit. Three kits were now becoming apprentices, what would the nursery do without them? "It's about time he finally realized we have reached six moons. I think he was making us wait just to torture us."
she mewed. ********************************************************** Blizzardstar watched at the clan gathered beneath the rock. Once the majority of the clan had gathered, he was able to continue. Besides, the kits looked like they were about to jump out of their fur with excitement. He didn't want to delay them. Plus, the nursery needed a little peace. "This is a proud day for WindClan, by naming apprentices we show WindClan will survive and remain strong." the white and gray tom began, looking at the two eager kits. "Ospreykit, Willowkit, and Emberkit please step forward." Blizzardstar meowed, awaiting the kits to come closer so the ceremony could officially begin.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

She hesitating, sure she was imagining the words, before movign closer to the leader. Her mind was foggy and dizzy qith excitement, her tail twitching cheerfully. Her moment was finally here! She'd become a medicine cat apprentice today! The calico didn't consider responding to either of her denmates; it just wasn't worth the time she might waste during the ceremony. She coudln't prolong the procedure any longer.

Ospreykit looked at Smokepaw, beaming. He completely ignored her scars; what matters is on the inside, right? "Hey Smokepaw!" the kit mewled cheerfully, then looked at his sister. "Of course he did it to torture us."
The fluffy brown kit froze in his tracks, ears pricked. It's time! He thought excitedly, then bounded towards the HighRock; stopping at Emberkit. His heart started beating faster, he had waited for this day for so long. In his mind, he thought over all the apprentice ceremonies he had watched when he was younger. Thinking of the words he grinned as Blizzardstar said them.

Mallowmarsh skidded out of her den, and into the clearing. She blinked, as her claws dug into the earth; she skidded to a halt a whisker-length away from a warrior "Pardon me" she purred, as if she was not late. She sprang around them towards an empty space a short distance from the leader. Today was the day she would finally be able to start the training of the apprentice. She was so happy to be able to pass on her knowledge of all of the herbs to Emberkit; A kit.... will she ever be able to be a medicine cat? I am so young... Only an apprentices-training away in age... Hopefully this kit would be able to prove herself. If not- no; Mallowfeather would be sure to make it so that this kit would be cherished by the whole clan, and be made an active and important member
