The air was soft and flowing. The willows, arched high above Splashwing's head, swayed with the breeze. She rolled onto her back, and gazed through the thick leaves and entwined branches, flicking her black tail and gray ears. Her green eyes flitted back and forth, spotting a butterfly as it danced through the boughs. Silently, she rolled back onto her belly, her ginger-and-gray pelt ruffled, and bunched her muscles.
Splashwing, heart leaping with excitement, flung into the air and tackled the butterfly, to see she had dreadfully missed it. In dismay, she launched into the air again, hoping she might have some luck, but the yellowed butterfly fluttered away without a care, leaving Splashwing there, gray ears flattened, eyes slitted.
"Stupid butterfly," she grumbled, "not letting me catch 'im." Splashwing growled under her breath and huffed back underneath the willow tree, to pout beneath its swaying tendrils.

Duskflight licked his paws as he basked in the ever darkening sunlight. Leaf- Fall was just beginning and Duskflight decided that he would make the best of what he had left of Green Leafs warmth by soaking up as much of it as he could. The golden light bounced off of his fur, causing it to erupt into a deep orange flame like color, and turning the dark white into a goldfish color. His dark grey eyes flicked back and forth when he heard the bushes quivering. The usual perkiness he had was especially bright at that time as he was just in a good mood. He stood up and stretched as he yawned, flexing each claw as he arched his back. Duskflight walked towards the bushes without any precautions, although he did walk silently. He could tell it was a familiar cat as the scent he smelled was of flowers and fish. He stopped when the bushes moved again as he saw a butterfly flit up above them. Duskflight jumped through the bushes suddenly to see a she cat chasing after the small yellow thing. He smiled as he recognized Splashwing sitting under some branches pouting. He called for her with a welcoming tone, waiting for her to accept him over. It was rude to approach someone without an invitation, and Duskflight certainly knew his manners.

Splashwing sighed, blinking her eyes up into the sky. She always had enjoyed days like these, with a soft cool breeze and a dull air. Shaking her pelt out, she pawed at a tendril absently.
Suddenly, Splashwing heard a burst of bushes ripping apart, and she flinched, crouching instantly low to the earth. She then heard Duskflight call to her, and spotted him. She forced flat her fur, then waved her tail, black and a bit ruffled, agreeingly. "You scared me half out of my fur, Duskflight!" she grumbled, but there was a hint of affection, and what seemed to be a purr.
