The sun streamed down through the branches that arched above Wolfheart's head, making him blink rapidly in discomfort. He rolled over, hoping to find a position in which the sun wouldn't assail his eyelids, but he soon abandoned the attempt. He hauled his massive body to his paws, sighing deeply before his maw was engulfed in a large yawn. Blinking, he shook out his thick gray pelt and stretched luxuriously, flexing his claws.
Picking his way through the mass of sleeping balls of fur, he emerged into the clearing, blinking the sleep from his large pale green eyes. His gaze drifted across the camp. Outside the nursery, a few kits were scuffling in the dirt, their mother looking on fondly. Wolfheart smirked good-naturedly and greeted the pretty queen with a flick of his long, bushy tail. Then, his gaze swept over the fresh kill pile, which was pitifully empty for this late in newleaf. With a jolt of excitement, Wolfheart realized that he had an excuse to go hunting. Usually, this would be a very commonplace activity, but with all the newleaf prey, the Clan had been stepping up border patrols along the ThunderClan and WindClan borders, and Wolfheart had been chosen to be on most of them, probably because of his sheer size and strength. He had been so busy with this, that he hadn't been hunting in a while.
With a happy purr, he pushed his broad head back into the warriors den and cleared his throat. "Anyone for a hunting patrol?" he mewed, keeping his voice low so as not to wake every cat.

Sharptalon lifted his head from his paws as a low voice sounded at the entrance to the warriors' den and he made out the large shape of Wolfheart. Blinking, the senior warrior slowly climbed out of his nest and greeted Wolfheart with a hearty nod. "Good morning, Wolfheart. If you're leading a patrol, I'd be glad to join," he volunteered, rolling his shoulders as he spoke. "It's not like I have anything else to do these days," he chuckled quietly, looking frail for a very brief moment. Though he returned to his usual self, and straightened up. "Do you have any other cats to come along?" Sharptalon inquiried, flicking a scrap of moss off his ear.

The shaggy gray warrior smiled briefly as Sharptalon pushed his way out of the den, but his smile faltered as he noticed just how frail the senior warrior was beginning to look. True, Sharptalon still had the healthy body of a fish-fed RiverClan warrior, and his coat was still sleek and glossy, but something about him seemed different, older.
Shaking off his worries, Wolfheart pressed his shoulder up against Sharptalon's and whisked his bushy gray tail over the older cat's back. "Nope. You're the first to volunteer. Why don't we try to find one more cat, then we can leave before the dawn patrol. We'll bring back ore fresh-kill than any other hunting party!" He mewed enthusiastically, kneading the soft, peaty ground with his massive front paws.

Sharptalon rolled his eyes in amusement at Wolfheart as he rambled on enthusiasticallymabout catching more prey, and wished he could've been that energetic. "I'm sure we will, but we at least need one more -" he started, but he was cut off by a cheerful mew. "Hunting patrol? Mind if I come along?" Frostheart smiled, trotting out of the warriors' den coolly. The meowing woke her sooner or later, and she was hungry, so it would be a good idea to hunt early. Frostheart's glossy silver tabby pelt gleamed in the sunlight, and her rich brown eyes sparkled enthusiastically.

Fangshatter walked right past them and walked out of camp. He wanted to be by himself and not with other warriors. Who needs this stinking Clan anyways. He said. Anyways he was half-clan. His mother was born in Thunderclan and his father was Riverclan.

The large gray tom watched as the lithe shape of Frostheart emerged out of the warriors' den. He smiled briefly, dipping his head in welcome to the energetic she-cat. He knew she was a skillful hunter, and having her on his patrol would mean more fresh-kill for the Clan.
With a nod at Sharptalon, Wolfheart turned and began to pad out of the camp, his massive paws falling silently on the ground. Just as he was about to shoulder his way through the reeds at the far side of the camp, another cat shouldered him aside and pushed through the camp entrance, muttering under his breath. Wolfheart's hackles raised, his tail lashing in anger. The Fangshatter was always so prickly! With a huff, he shook his head and padded on, determined to ignore the angry warrior.
Once the three cats were out of the camp's boundaries, Wolfheart called to Sharptalon over his shoulder. "Where shall we hunt?" he mewed, relying on the older cat's authority to guide the patrol.

"Any way I can tag along?" Dawnflame asked emerging from the warriors den after them. She was already bored in her nest. she looked back and forth between the cats "With any partol that is, I just need to keep moving I'm getting antsy in my nest." Her whiskers twitched in good humor and she gave her shoulder a few quick licks while she waited for a response. If she was hunting, at least she wouldn't be getting into trouble like she usually was. Anyone who'd met her would swear she was still an apprentice, or even a kit, simply because of her energetic and troublesome attitude.

Once the three cats were out of the camp's boundaries, Wolfheart called to Sharptalon over his shoulder. "Where shall we hunt?" he mewed, relying on the older cat's authority to guide the patrol.
Sharptalon nodded in approval as Frostheart padded up to them. "Of course, Frostheart." he meowed, his hopes lifting. If they kept gathering a few more cats like this, they would have better chances of bringing back prey for the Clan.
When Wolfheart asked him where they could hunt, he thought for a moment before replying, "I think we should try Sunningrocks. There might be some prey hiding in cracks or in between the stones," Sharptalon saw Wolfheart as a courageous and loyal warrior, and his respect for the large warrior grew a bit each day.
Sharptalon heard another voice behind him, and he turned to find Dawnflame. Alright, now he was getting a bit overwhelmed. I think we have enough cats, he declared, nodding Dawnflame a greeting. "Sure, Dawnflame. We'll head out as soon as we plan otu where we'll go," he meowed, flicking his tail in anticipation.

Fangshatter looked at the other cats but didn't pay no mind to them, He was thinking about his apprentice, Creampaw and how she didn't care either about the clans. Sunningrocks sounds good. But what about fishing? We could do that too. [/b] He said getting his opinion out.[/blockquote]

Dawnflame, rather oblivious to the cat's impatience in thinking they had enough cats already, simply nodded. She waited to follow wherever they decided. Where they went didnt matter much to her.

Sharptalon nodded at Fangshatter's suggestion. "Sure, we can hunt before we cross over to Sunningrocks," he meowed thoughtfully, imagining their patrol returning successfully with more prey for the Clan.
Flicking his ear in anticipation, Sharptalon dug his claws into the soft ground, eager to depart on their hunt. "Alright, is everyone ready?" he asked, letting his gaze rest on each of the warriors he had chosen to accompany him. Seeing that no one spoke otherwise, he turned and flicked his tail as a gesture for them to follow him. Weaving through the tunnel of woven brambles and reeds, which served as the camp entrance, of course, Sharptalon lead his patrol out into the territory.
ooc;; Closed. Who wants to start the thread for territory?
