Amberfrost stood up from her sunny rock, soaking up the slowly dying warmth of the sun since it would soon be leaf- bare. She felt groggy and tired, and had a hard time standing up. She felt hungry again, even though she'd just split a rabbit with one of the elders. It had been like this for at least six or seven sunrises, but Amberfrost was reluctant to visit the medicine cat other than for her cobweb changes she needed to help mend her damaged paw.
It turned out she did not actually break it, but rather dislocated it and severely sprained it, though it would heal, and would also not be permanent. "So I can go hunting again," Amberfrost thought out loud. She wasn't aloud out of camp for too long, and definitely not allowed to have fun or hunt or fight, but Amberfrost had not been feeling the need to leave anyways. She just wanted to rest and sleep all the time. She decided that she would finally ask Fallensnow what was going on when she got her cobwebs changed.
The silver Bengal hopped down from the warm stone, onto the cold, hard, slightly frosted ground. She shuddered slightly and, yawning broadly, proceeded towards Fallensnow's den. She noticed Hawkstar out of the corner of her eye, and remembered the fight they'd had, oh what was it? A half a moon ago? Who knows, it hurt Amberfrost to think about it. But she wouldn't apologize, she was too strong headed. At least, not at that moment. She entered the dark- lit den, preparing for her cobwebs.
**
When Amberfrost left the den, she could not believe her ears. She'd just been told she was pregnant. As in, she was having kits in about a moon, supposedly. Her heart filled with happiness and joy at the thought, but of fear as well. She'd never been pregnant before, and she didn't know what to do. She'd been told to rest as much as possible and eat a lot, and that she would be moved to the nursery in a half moon or so, or whenever she got a little bigger. It all made sense to her now, though. Amberfrost turned and looked at Hawkstar with wide eyes before turning tail and hobbling as fast as she could to a cave-like crevice behind the rocks she'd been resting on.
Ooc: I didn't put Fallensnow telling her she was pregnant cuz i didn't want to power play (: KIIIIITS!!!!

Hawkstar watched as Amberfrost padded into the medicine cat den, eyes clouded with misery and longing. It hadn't been long since the arguement he and Amberfrost had that he no longer was angry. Now, he couldn't stop thinking about her and what they used to have. He wanted for them to make up, and go back to how they were before the whole mess.
His gaze was still trained on the entrance to the den when Amberfrost suddenly came out and stared at him for a heartbeat, eyes wide. He froze, trying to figure out what was wrong. But she was already heading for a small cave-like structure in the rocks that some ThunderClanners used to bask in the sunlight. He knew this, because sometimes he and Amberfrost did that themselves, before the arguement, though.
The tabby tom was on his paws in a split-second, heart racing. He trotted after his mate and found her by the cave in the rocks. He didn't care if Amberfrost was still mad at him. He was still in love with her, and even if she didn't care for him anymore, he needed to know if she was alright. "Amberfrost, what's wrong?" he asked, anxiety in his voice. Why had she ran away from him like that? Something must be wrong.

Leaning on the smooth yet somewhat rough rock, Amberfrost sat, rolling her tail up her back and down again.. For most, it was a sign of irritation, for her, it was a sign of deep thought, or confusion. At this particular moment, it was both. how was she going to tell Hawkstar? What would he say? What would he think? How would he treat the kits? Amberfrost's head lifted from the cold stone as she heard footsteps approaching, a shadow growing taller in size as a figure came towards the mouth of the opening. She didn't know what expression to reveal, so she just relaxed, letting whatever emotion wanted to escape her mind and show itself rest on her face.
When Hawkstar appeared, he looked seriously worried. Amberfrost was glad he still cared about her; she still loved him to much for words. She cocked her heda to the side slightly, studying his gaze, his questioning look, the way he was standing, everything. Amberfrost didn't want to miss a single heartbeat of his reaction. The silver Bengal racked her mind for the right words to explain. She'd never thought much on it, so therefore had no pre-planned sentence, phrase, or anything. So she decided to wing it instead. "Hawkstar... Nothing's wrong. I mean, not everything is fine either, but nothing is really... wrong... She trailed off. Amberfrost shook her head. That sounded mouse-brained! So instead, she just came out with it.
"Youre going to be a father, Hawkstar," She said uncertainly. But the more she dwelled on the sentence in her mind, the more excited she became. "We're having kits... We're having kits!" Amberfrost was standing up now, momentarily forgetting about her fractured paw. She looked Hawkstar in the eyes., trying to read his expression. She thought of the emotions he could be having. Terror? Shock? Excitement? Resent? She wanted him to love the kits. She knew he'd never hurt them, and Amberfrost was confident he'd be a fantastic father. After all, he was the father of a whole Clan, per se.

Nothing's wrong? It certainly didn't look that way. Amberfrost seemed like she was hiding something, and Hawkstar was going to get to the bottom of it - whether she liked it or not. He cared about her too much for her to keep secrets from him. The tabby tom never liked it when other cats knew things that he didn't. It wasn't really jealousy or anything like that, but he'd always figured that he had to know everything to be leader.
"You're going to be a father, Hawkstar." His expression went blank. In fact, everything went blank: his mind, his body, his heart. The tone of her voice confirmed that she was being serious. Him... a father? Kits? A family? He and Amberfrost... with kits? No matter how he rephrased it in his mind, it was the same meaning; Amberfrost was expecting. Hawkstar said nothing for a long time, letting the truth sink in. So... they would have, little tabby toms and she-kits running around their feet, pouncing on their tails and taking daily naps?
His expression was hard for a long time, but when his eyes met Amberfrost's, it broke into a soft gaze, full of affection, pride, and excitement. He brushed his muzzle against hers before resting his chin on the top of her head, a deep purr rumbling from the depths of his throat. He wouldn't be able to express his happiness any more if he tried. "Oh, Amberfrost, that's wonderful," he murmured softly, closing his eyes and letting her sweet scent wash over him. "I'm sorry. About everything. I was a jerk to you, and you deserve the best," he mewed, the regret easily identifiable in his voice.
Hawkstar let out another sigh of content. "I love you so much, Amberfrost," he purred quietly, twining his bushy tail with hers. This would be great! They would have beautiful kittens, who would grow up and be warriors that they both could be proud of. No matter what, Hawkstar would always be proud of his kits. He could already see it; a brown tabby tom with amber eyes - just like his mother, or maybe a silver tabby she-cat, inheriting his golden, strong eyes. Or maybe something in between. It didn't matter what they looked like though. He pressed his nose into Amberfrost's nose, trying to keep himself calm, or else he'd start yowling out the news to the entire Clan.
