_-_E a g l ePAW For her first day as an apprentice, the young she-cat had worked hard. She had been out learning ShadowClan territory, for the first half of the day and spent the second half learning how to hunt and had even caught her first prey. Bringing in her first mouse to camp was possibly the most exciting feeling in the world. Dropping it on the fresh-kill pile, she casually glanced over to where the apprentices at by a clump of ferns and didn’t see her sister Hazelpaw there. Their mentors used to be decent friends but had recently suffered a falling out, therefore the two young cats hadn’t spent their first day together, to Eaglepaw’s distaste. She wasn’t sure what her sister had been doing= probably something boring. Eaglepaw felt as if she was walking on clouds, she had patrolled her borders and caught her first prey- where was her sister so that she could brag. Picking out a vole for herself, she trotted over towards the older apprentices and settled down as if she belonged there. As she settled down to eat, she glared at the older apprentices as if daring them to speak to her. She was better than them and she knew it, it wasn’t hard to see. She would one day be Eaglestar, leader of ShadowClan and the greatest leader that the clans had ever known. Where is Hazelpaw? The annoyed thought crossed her mind several times as she tucked into her vole. The only cat that understood her ambitions was Hazelpaw. Her sister may be as ambitious as she was, but she understood. Taking a deep breath Eaglepaw mewed aloud to her other apprentices with a nonchalant voice, ”Has anyone see my sister?” Raking her annoyed gaze over her clanmates she waited for them to respond. Eaglepaw was as prickly as most ShadowClan cats were rumored to be. Everything was to go her way, or it wasn’t going to happen at all.. and she was going to make sure all of her clanmates knew that. 338

Her life was beyond miserable today, nothing was going her way and the apprentice was not happy at all about it. The little she-cat had been awoken early, and her mentor had done nothing to amuse her. All she had done today was be shown the territory. The little apprentice had toured with one of her siblings, but not the one she would have liked. If she could have toured with Eaglepaw maybe it would have been bearable. But no…she had to be with the other she-cat who couldn’t shut her mouth. Why did her mentor and Eaglepaw’s mentor have to be so mousebrained? Didn’t they know that the two apprentices functioned better with eachother? Her mentor had decided not to teach her anything today. Other than the territory tour, Hazelpaw had been no use to the clan whatsoever. All she wanted to do was learn how to hunt a mouse, or even how to fight. But no…she had been stuck with the elders den.
Hazelpaw’s mentor had thought it would be a good idea to teach her how to change the elder’s bedding and do all those mousebrained tasks. What good would that do her when her clan was starving, or an enemy clan barged into camp? Absolutely nothing. The she-cat had spent the majority of her time listening to the elders gossip about nonrelevant things. Her mentor looked so into the stories and Hazelpaw just wanted to vomit. Finally finishing the last task, Hazelpaw stomped out of the elder’s den and made her way toward the clearing of camp. Maybe Eaglepaw could calm her down…or at least let her vent.
But something caught her eye, and Hazelpaw saw the outline of her mentor. Very bad idea….not a smart move on the warrior’s part. With a deep breath, Hazelpaw stormed across the clearing and to her mentor, letting out a hiss of annoyance. The small apprentice soon began to rant off to her mentor, yelling and screaming and throwing a fit over what she was just having to do. The she-cat’s fur was fluffed out and she was highly agitated. She soon finished telling her mentor off and proceeded to stalk off, finding a spot and settling herself down. Right now Hazelpaw was trying to calm herself down, she didn’t need to get too worked up.

--eaglePAW It seemed that just a few heartbeats after the black she-cat had asked her fellow apprentices where Hazelpaw was, that she heard her sister- and Hazelpaw wasn't happy. She looked up just in time to see her storming away from her mentor and to a quiet spot in the clearing. Finishing the last bites of her vole, Eaglepaw stood and trotted over to her sister. "You seem upset." She observed quietly as she sat down, drawing her tail around her. She knew she would soon hear the story of why her sister was so upset and then she could share her own story of the day. Blinking her brilliant green eyes, she tried her best to look halfway sympathetic, but ended up looking mostly nonchalant. Letting her mind wander, while she waited on her sister to respond she wandered which of her other sisters she had gotten stuck with. Hawkpaw and Magpiepaw could talk your ears off and had never really gotten along well with Hazelpaw and her. Eaglepaw found her two younger sisters very annoying, and not in the kind of cute way.

Rainpaw glanced around nervously. She dropped the toad that was occupying her jaws onto the ground just in front of her sharp claws. She sheathed and unsheathed them, kneading the moist dirt beneath her pads as she picked up clumps of the dark brown earth and dropped them before her. The she- cat was starving; she hadn't eaten since the night before, and then she'd had only half a mouse as she discovered the other half had been filled with maggots. Rainpaw shuddered. Those little beasts disgusted her more than fox dung. Finally, she bent down and began to eat the lumpy creature, slowly at first, but quickly increasing her bites until the poor thing was just bones. Her stomach growled as it started to digest the welcomed food; she was still hungry, but she knew she could have more food at camp. After all, no one else knew she'd had the toad, therefore no cat would reprimand her for choosing a small morsel from the fresh- kill pile. Rainpaw decided she'd need to bring back something to contribute.
Soon enough the grey and black she- cat had caught a plump mouse and one small vole. She triumphantly carried the warm prey back to camp and dropped them on the fresh- kill pile with a flourish. Rainpaw had somehow managed to shake her mentor off of her tail and adventure on her own. She smiled at her sneakiness and started to pad towards the cluster of apprentices, as she was in a rather chatty mood, which was highly unusual for the pretty she- cat. Looking over, Rainpaw saw her sisters, and quick;y walked off, hoping to be unnoticed. It wasn't that she didn't love them, it was that she didn't want to slip and make a mistake. After all, it was a hard task for Rainpaw to keep their relation a secret.

Before Eaglepaw had arrived, Hazelpaw had sensed her sister was near. She could guess that her sister had a much better day than she had, and would give anything to do something other than mousebrained tasks. She felt her stomach rumbling, but ignored it. She was too agitated to eat, and it probably wouldn’t settle well until she calmed herself down. Sitting down, the she-cat began to smooth down her fur with her tongue, trying to get the stench of the elders den off.
”Really? I seem upset? What would give you that hint?”
she hissed, flexing her claws into the ground to keep herself from going back to her mentor and digging into fur. But she stopped herself from speaking further when she realized who she was speaking to. ”Sorry, yeah, not one of my better days. My mousebrain for a mentor had me doing meaningless tasks all day. The only part of my day that I was able to go out of camp I got to go with Hawkpaw. If I hear one more time about the proper ways to groom my fur… Please tell me yours was better and I can live through your life for a few moments.” her eyes were full of hope as she looked toward Eaglepaw. She needed to live through her sister right now, even if it was vicariously. Out of the corner of her eye, Hazelpaw noticed one of the older apprentices in the clan and she blinked at her sister. Hmm….she needed some good advice about mentors. Maybe Rainpaw could help. ”Should we make a new ally? Having someone in the den that is older, could be an advantage.” she asked Eaglepaw, as she looked toward Rainpaw. [/blockquote][/blockquote]

Letting her sister vent was sometimes easier said than done sometimes. It upset Eaglpaw that her sister had had such a tough day, even though she wasn't about to show it. When her sister asked about her day, Eaglepaw felt her heart soar- finally! "I got to patrol the territory and this afternoon I got a hunting lesson and I caught my first squirrel." She felt proud of herself as she told her sister about her accomplishments As she told her about the squirrel she flicked her tail towards the fresh-kill pile.
At her sisters mention of a new ally, Eaglepaw found her eye landing on Rainpaw. The older apprentice didn't talk much to them, but she didn't seem annoying. "She doesn't seem annoying. We can if you want." Blinking her green eyes at her sister she turned her gaze back on the older apprentice- but would she be interested in talking to the two younger apprentices?
