Cloudwing yawned, licking a paw lazily and drawing it over his ear. His blue eyes slowly scanned the camp clearing, dull with boredom. A silver tabby caught his attention, and he fixed his gaze on Minnowleap, who was across the clearing. He got to his paws and made his way over to her, greeting his friend with the usual nuzzle. "Hey, Minnow, what's up?" he purred, laying down beside her.

"Oh, Hi Cloudwing!" Minnowstream purred, turning to look at her friend. Her yellow eyes gleaming with friendlyness, she was glad Cloudwing came over. She was actually kind of bored before, and the silver tabby felt like Cloudwing was the only one who liked her. She gave her paw a couple licks and swiped it over her ears.

Cloudwing grinned. "Isn't it great being warriors now?" he smiled, his eyes shining. Being a warrior was the best thing Cloudwing could ever wish for, and he couldn't imagine how those lazy kittypets coped with their annoying twolegs. While he lay by Minnowstream, he knew that he could act like himself around her; just like she could do the same around him.

"Yeah, all those moons of training finally payed off." she replied, grinning. Minnowstream felt so comfortable around her friend. She was grateful for him putting up with her, she knew she could be a pawful sometimes. Cloudwing probably was the only cat she knew well, practicly everyone else felt like a stranger to her. She knew Cloudwing did sometimes brag, but she knew he was really a kind cat. Sinking deep into happy thoughts, Minnowstream continued to clean herself. She swiped her tongue across her belly, determined to get all the muck out. Yesterday she's slipped and splattered mud on her belly, it been so hard to clean out but there was only a few small spots of mud left.

Cloudwing agreed with Minnowstream by letting out a loud purr. His ears twitched in amusement when she began to wash herself, and he couldn't help but smirk remembering the embarrassing fall Minnowstream had the day before. "You missed a spot." he teased, pointing with a paw to a small smudge of dried mud on her flank.

"Opps," Minnowstream meowed, looking down at the mud spot. She quickly swiped her tonuge across the mud until it came off. "There!" she meowed triumphantly, taking a look at her now mud-free pelt. That took awhile, she thought, remembering yesterday when she'd spent the whole sunhigh getting dried mud out. She was relieved to have finally gotten all the mud out.

Cloudwing laughed and flicked his tail in amusement. "Why do she-cats always worry about their looks?" he asked, half-curious and also half-teasing. He always saw she-cats grooming themselves around camp, and he always scrunched up his face in confusion.

"You wouldn't understand. It's a she-cat thing," Minnowstream teased, smiling at Cloudwing. "How come toms care so much about who catchs the most prey?" she teased again. Minnowstream enjoyed joking around with her friends, or her friend. She thought it would be good to return Cloudwings question with another question. Minnowstream didn't care about her apprearence a lot, it's just she didn't want to walk around with mud all on her belly. Dried mud sticking to you isn't exactly the most confortable thing.

Cloudwing snorted stubbornly. "A she-cat thing?" He paused for a moment before adding, "I think you look fine, 'ya know." He said like a friend would; nothing more. Before Minnowstream could say anything in return, he went on. "When we catch more prey, it means that we're better than the others." he meowed ignorantly, puffing out hsi chest to look more noble.

"Oh I see," Minnowstream smiled, "So since I catch more prey, I'm better than you?" she teased, hoping Cloudwing didn't take her joke too literly. Minnowstream knew Cloudwing could be a little....stuborn sometimes. The silver she-cat thought for a moment, she really did enjoy Cloudwing's company. Sitting there, joking around with her friend, she realized how lucky she was to have him as a friend. No other cat knew how to calm her down when she was upset, no one else could put up with her "mood swings".

Cloudwing frowned stubbornly. "Yeah right," he snorted. "I can catch more prey than you any day!" His words came out a little sharp, but he didn't mean it in a bad way. He knew how Minnowstream could get upset sometimes, but he was only trying to teach her to ignore when some cats are mean to her or something.

Minnowstream flinched when Cloudwing snorted, but she shook it away. It was just his stuborn side, besides she should have tempted him anyway. "Okay then, how about we see who can catch more." she offered, pherhaps they could have a little friendly contest. "I'm sure Nightflower would send us out on a hunting patrol."

Cloudwing didn't noticed Minnowstream flinch and went on. "Please, we both know already who'd win." Arrogance was painted on his face as he got a little carried away in his own pride. "Fine; let's go see if she'll let us out." he meowed finally, standing to his paws and starting towards where Nightflower and Aspenfrost were conversing.
