Ravenfeather raced across the flat, grassy terrian of Riverclan's territory, she headed for the river, which held rushing water. When she'd nearly reached it, the black and white warrior realized something. With an embarressed look on her face, she rushed back to Aspenfrost. "Sorry, I guess I forgot we were collecting herbs." she apoligized to the medicine cat. She'd thought for a second that they might've been on a hunting patrol.

Aspenfrost was about to say something when Ravenfeather shot off into the undergrowth and vanished for a few moments. She twitched her whiskers in amusement while a humerous look sparkled in her aspen-green eyes. She raised a brow when the out-of-breath warrior returned and smiled. "It's okay, we all get confused sometimes." she purred, touching Ravenfeather's shoulder with her tail tip as she walked past her. "My garden is farther down the river, south of Sunningrocks, but you must know that already." she recalled the last time she went to gather herbs with the black warrior.

"Yeah, but it's always good to be reminded." Ravenfeather meowed kindly, walking along side Aspenfrost. The black warrior was slightly confused about why she seemed to be the only one to enjoys collecting herbs with the medicine cat. It was good to have a peaceful moment in the day of hunting and border patroling.

Soon enough, the two RiverClan cats reached Aspenfrost's garden, and she suddenly stopped in her tracks, her eyes wide and her jaws gaping in horror. The once beautiful, verdant garden she had worked so hard on to birth healthy herbs, was now trampled and crushed with dirt scattered everywhere. The leaves on almost every plant were ripped off and the poor stems of plants that survived were either hung over or lying in the dirt. Aspenfrost didn't even notice the rank stench of dog.
"My garden!" she shrieked, shooting forwards and crouching beside the remains of it. She stared around at each of her plants and whimpered quietly when only a few remained. Even her catmint, was torn to pieces. "Who could do such a thing?" she whispered, her voice barely audible. Her garden meant very much to her, and always seemed to calm her in times of distress. Sometimes she would sing her herbs a soothing song to help them grow, or even ask them questions about things in general. Now, her close companion had been crushed, neglected and defeated.

Ravenfeather froze, she had been about to comfort the medicine cat but a smell entered her nose. "Dog!" she hissed, spinning around to see where the creature was. I'll teach that dog a leson for ruining Aspenfrost's garden! The black and white warrior spotted the dumb creature over to the left. It was about six tail-lengths away. "Get back!" she called to Aspenfrost, and without thinking the warrior raced in front of the medicine cat. She knew Aspenfrost probably wasn't much of the fighting type, so she'd have to protect the she-cat. The large dog drew closer, slobber dripping from its mouth. It was a fairly big, brown dog. Ravenfeather could see it's yellow/white teeth peaking out if the dog's mouth. Ravenfeather fluffed out her fur, unsheathed her clans, and drew her lips back in a snarl.

Though it was true Aspenfrost was not the fighting type, she wouldn't allow the thing that ruined her precious garden escape without being taught a severe lesson. "I'm sorry, Ravenfeather, but I'll have to go against your order!" she spat as she shot forward, advancing on the brown dog. Its tongue lolled and its beedy yellow eyes gleamed with a crazed hunger.
Suddenly, it yelped in pain and surprise when it felt claws rake down its flank, and turned to see Aspenfrost spitting and hissing at it. She felt a fierce bond with her garden - not more than her Clan, of course - and that stupid creature had almost destroyed it.

"Aspenfrost!" Ravenfeather called after the medicine cat worriedly. She dashed after her, sliding underneath the large creature and slicing her claws down it's belly. The dog let out an angry bark and slamed it's paw into the black warriors as the dashed out from under it. Ravenfeather stumbled back, dazed by the power of the dog. She shook her head after a moment and dashed back at the dog, jumping up at it's face. Ravenfeather tried to claw it's face, but she dog snapped at her with it's large teeth. It grabbed hold of her tail, which has been swishing back and forth argrily, and shook the warrior around. "Ouch STOP IT!" Ravenfeather hissed, scrabbling desperatly to get her tail out of the dogs grasp.

Aspenfrost yowled in fury when the dog advanced on Ravenfeather, and tensed her muscles before leaping onto its back with outstretched claws. She dug her claws into its thin pelt for a better grip, and the dog began to shake violently, tyring to throw her off. For a heartbeat, she hesitated. Was it really worth it to hurt this poor creature? Or was she going against the warrior code? Aspenfrost realized that her Clan mate was in danger, and she knew she had to do what must be done. She wrapped her paws around the dog's face, and dug her claws into the soft flesh. It howled in fear and pain, until it was literally crouching to the ground submissively, begging to be released. Aspenfrost finally retreated and watched the dog flee, its tail between its legs. "R-Ravenfeather, are you alright?" she asked shakily, trembling in fear. She had just injured a living animal, surely that was against StarClan's will? She was a medicine cat, not a warrior.

OCC: I just realized but there's no pic of NIghtflower on the alliences...
"Y-yeah," Ravenfeather meowed shakily, she glanced over to where the dog had fled and sighed in releafe. "Thanks...for saving me." she meowed gratefully. She surely would've been crow-food if it hadn't have been for the medicine cat. "We should probably get back to camp." she pointed out. They'd have to report this the leader and NIghtflower.

Aspenfrost nodded her head and hesitantly got to her paws, keeping all her senses alert in case the dog returned. Yet she had sent it off with some nasty wounds, so it wasn't bound to come back anytime soon. "You're right, we don't want any other cats injured." she agreed quietly. She walked by Ravenfeather's side, fur brushing, back to camp. She had some cuts around her body, but the worst was a gash on her flank, but it was only mild.

Ravenfeather walked along the medicine cat, her black (and partly white) fur brushed against Aspenfrost's. Suddenly the warrior realized something "Wait, what will be do without herbs?" she asked wide eyed. A medicine cat couldn't really do anything to help their clanmates without healing herbs. Ravenfeather was just glad that Leaf-bare wasn't coming up soon. Thinking about all the sickness in that cold season, without herbs, frightened her.

Aspenfrost was already fretting about what the Clan would do without herbs and shook her head helplessly. "Nothing," she replied simply, yet their was a worried edge ot her voice. "We'll have to wait through greenleaf for the plants to grow back, and by the time they do green-leaf would be coming to an end." she pointed out, lashing her tail anxiously. This was very bad news to her; since things were tense between the Clans, a fight can break out at any moment, and she wouldn't have healing herbs to help her Clan mates.

"Well wouldn't one of the other medicine cats loan you some herbs?" she asked as they continued walking back to camp. Ravenfeather had seem the she-cat chatting with Frostleaf during gatherings. Surely the Winclan medicine cat would be kind enough to help her fellow medicine cat out.

Aspenfrost shook her head miserably. "No, no, the other medicine cats would ask their leaders and surely they would denie their request, and if they still agreed to help ThunderClan, they would be betraying their Clan. I couldn't wish that upon anyone." she mewed dryly. The only thing they could do was to wait for her garden to re-grow into stronger and healthier plants, and give it time to replenish itself.

OCC: Do I post in ~Sorting Patrols~? Or make a new thread?
Ravenfeather decided not to say anything else, it would probably only make things worse. The two she-cats padded back to camp, and Ravenfeather dashed through the camp entrance. SHe had to tell Nightflower right away what was going on. ((CAMP))
