How could she let herself get into this situations? She had never been the type to do something this mousebrained. She didn't even like kits, and ever since her sister...well she couldn't deal with the nursery. Hissing in frustration the white she-cat paced back and forth across the clearing. Yes, it was true that ThunderClan was lacking in the kit department. It had been moons since there was a kit in the nursery, and now here she was barely an apprentice and she would be all alone in the nursery...again.
Cloudpaw was dreading telling the one cat she didn't snap at. Her best friend was the father, this was just not something she knew how to tell him. She had already snapped at warriors today, not wanting to deal with them. What would her parents think?
Her bright blue eyes were narrowed and glaring at anyone who dared to approach her. Finally settling down she began to mumble to herself. "How could I have been so mousebrained? I don't care what anyone says, I'm not moving to the nursery until I actually have the kits, not a moment before. I'm not meant to be a queen, I'm suppose to be a warrior soon. With kits, now I have to wait until they are old enough before I can start training again."
Cloudpaw was fierce, she knew how to take care of herself, and anyone who challenged her opinion would hear about it.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

Bramblepaw padded out of the apprentices den, yes he had slept late...again. But who cared? As long as he still did his apprentice duties he should still be able to sleep in. Why does there have to be so many rules? The brown Havana tom spotted his best friend, Cloudpaw. He padded up to her opening his mouth to say something when Cloudpaw mumbled something. Luckily, the tall brown apprentice was close enough to hear, just within earshot. Some of the white she-cats words were fuzzy, but her got the main point of her mumble. His eyes widened in shock and his mouth dropped open. Cloudpaw was having kits?! The first thing he though was who's the father?

Cloudpaw hadn't even noticed Bramblepaw, and continued on her little rant. "Now Bramblepaw's gonna think I'm completely insane. How can I keep these kits? I'm not meant to be a mother. Whitekit was the one that wanted kits, I just wanted to be a warrior. Looks like I really am living her life and not mine."
she continued to murmur. Finally looking up the she-cat saw her best friend had finally awoken. 'Well it's about time' she thought, rolling her eyes. Why did he look so shocked. Surely he hadn't heard any of that. "What do I have something in my fur?" Cloudpaw asked, looking around to see if something was in her pelt. He was staring at her funnily. "I see someone finally decided to get their lazy fur out of the den." She managed to get out, trying to at least tease and act normal. [/blockquote][/blockquote]

"You-your-having kits?" Bramblepaw burst out, his widened eyes still staring at Cloudpaw. He also did think that she just said he'd think she was insane. Well it wasn't completely true, he didn't think she was crazy. The brown tom was just shocked, how could an apprentice end up with kits? It was just plain weird.

Oh dear...he had heard her. She could try to deny it, but then...he would just find out eventually. Cloudpaw looked to the ground and nodded at his question. "Don't tell my parents just yet, I want to keep it a secret. I don't want anyone to know."
she pleaded, her eyes showing an emotion that wasn't thought possible...fear. "I'm sorry, I didn't think it was possible. I mean, I didn't want kits, and I don't know why me. Everything bad always seems to happen to me." she added. Cloudpaw looked at him, her blue eyes were full of hurt now. She was disappointed in herself. "I guess you also heard they are your kits too. I mean, I understand if you want nothing to do with them, or anything to do with me anymore. I can't be a mother, I'm a warrior not some queen." Cloudpaw sighed. This just was not her day. But at least the truth was out now...Bramblepaw knew.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

Bramblepaw stood there a few moments, silent. "Of course I'll still be your friend!" he exclamed, brushing his fur against Cloudpaws. He was going to have kits! Cloudpaw was going to have his kits! He was excited, there was only one thing he was confused about was whether her and Cloudpaw were mates now, or where they still just...friends. "I'll be the best father there ever was!" he decided, puffing his chest out. The skinny brown tom added "And I'll even skip my apprentices duties to hang out with you, if you ever get bored."

Cloudpaw had never known there wasn't an emotion that made her feel the way she did. Ever since her sister, she had shut down, not allowed anyone to come near her. She had befriended Bramblepaw, much to her surprise, rather quickly, and here they were now. He was sticking by her. "Good, I think I'll need some friends. I have a feeling I won't be liked much anymore, and they will only like the kits because it means more warriors for the clan." It was true. Cloudpaw had never heard of an apprentice having kits. Not even in elder's stories. How could she do this, was it even possible for her to still train? Then again, she could do anything, just as long as she didn't tell anyone.
The feeling of his fur against hers, made the she-cat freeze. But she actually liked it. She could get used to it. Cloudpaw was just as confused as he was. What were they now? He looked like he had a question on his mind. "What?" She chuckled at him saying he would be the best father ever, but she hoped he would be right. She would definitely need him. And for Cloudpaw to admit she needed help, that was saying a lot. "You won't have to skip your duties, and I won't have to skip mine. We will find a way to make it work. We have to."
Cloudpaw had no idea what she really was getting herself into, or how much work it was going to be. Her emotions were going crazy, probably no thanks to those kits.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

Bramblepaw nodded in agreement, but he joked "Well, couldn't we just skip out on cleaning the elders den?" the skinny tom thought the siduation needed some light too it. Or the two just needed a good laugh, whichever worked.
As the Havana tom sat there, he couldn't help but wonder what their kits might look like. Surely there would be a white one, like Cloudpaw. Maybe there would even be one kit that looked like him. He tried to picture a miniature verson of himself. Brown and skinny. Taller than the other kits, short fur...

Leaning a bit closer to Bramblepaw, Cloudpaw laughed. "Between me and you, I don't set a paw in the elder's den. I always find a way to get out of it anyway." Cloudpaw's eyes were gleaming with mischief. The white apprentice really had never cleaned the bedding of the elders. Maybe once or twice when she was first apprenticed, but she had just as sharp of a tongue as they did, and she didn't click well. Pushing off those chores to other apprentices was easy.
Bramblepaw looked so lost in thought, Cloudpaw didn't want to disturb him, but her curious side took over. "Please don't tell me you are having second thoughts. I'm already completely freaked out, I need someone to keep me sane." Panic arose in the young apprentice as she thought about everything. Bramblepaw may have been thinking of what their kits would look like, but Cloudpaw was just worried about kits. "I don't know if I can do this at all, Whitekit was suppose to be the queen. Not me. She was suppose to find a mate and let me be the aunt who teases and plays with the kits. What if I'm not good enough for them?"
Cloudpaw began voicing her thoughts, not realizing she had spoken aloud. Normally she wouldn't speak so freely of her sister.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

"Don't be a mouse-brain! Of course you'll be enough for the kits, they'll love you." Bramblepaw meowed, curling his tail around his paws. "And we may not have an aunt but we have an uncle." he added, refering to his brother.

Cloudpaw blinked at him. "How can you know that? For all we know they will hate me, and hate that they were accidents. I mean, I'm an apprentice having kits, I could get kicked out of the clan! I don't do kits, you know that."
Her voice trailed off at the end. She didn't set a paw in the nursery, she wouldn't, she couldn't. The memories of her sister were still fresh in her mind. She knew they had his brother, but still, she wanted her sister. "I know, but that still doesn't mean I don't want my sister here. She would know what to do, she would just be...her." It was true, Cloudpaw was lost without her sister. Even though Whitekit had been blind, she had seen life so clearly. Cloudpaw shivered as she tried to keep her emotions from getting the best of her. It was becoming exhausting. "Will you do me a favor and just go out of camp with me? I want to get away and maybe hunt, or climb a tree, or something." Cloudpaw was feeling overwhelmed and just needed a break.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

"Sure!" Bramblepaw exclamed, he was fine with going hunting. The brown apprentice just hoped that his mentor didn't get all crabby about him going off with Cloudpaw. The brown Havana tom walked over to the camp entrace. He glanced around to make sure no-one was watching and meowed to the white she-cat "Come on,"

Good, he had agreed. At least she wouldn't have to drag him out by his scruff...and she would have if necessary. She nodded a thanks to Bramblepaw and looked around. Maybe this would do her some good. Cloudpaw didn't want anyone to see them leave, especially her parents or mother. She already would have to have a conversation with them.
Shaking her white fur, the she-cat got on her paws and padded toward her friend. "If you treat me like I am fragile, I will claw your eyes out."
she spoke to him softly. Walking past him, she made her way into finding something to do. "Race you!" she exclaimed with a grin, rushing into the forest. [/blockquote][/blockquote]

Bramblepaw grinned when Cloudpaw challenged him to a race. "You're on!" he replied, dashing after the white apprentice. The brown Havana cat was glad his friend was still acting like herself, she wasn't being all careful since she was expecting kits. But Bramblepaw couldn't help wonder, should she stay in the nursery?
