SO I WON'T LET YOU CLOSE ENOUGH TO HURT ME( • NO,I WON'T ASK YOU, YOU TO JUST DESERT ME • )
The moon shone as it climbed higher into the night sky, making Tornshadow's pelt gleam as he stalked through the meadows of WindClan territory. His muscles rippled under his thick pelt and his broad shoulders were hunched as he parted his jaws to breathe in the scents around him as he sat crouched in a holly bush just in front of Fourtrees.
Suddenly, he thought he caught the scent of ThunderClan, and his fur prickled in anticipation as he leapt down from the bush and into the clearing. It was empty. Did Fireblossom trick him? No, he knew that she wouldn't. Not after seeing the hopeful gleam in her eyes earlier. Though he couldn't help but feel disappointed as he sat by himself by the massive roots of one of the giant oaks that surrounded Fourtrees.

Fireblossom had been walking around in a haze all day. Her body was firmly in ThunderClan territory, but her mind had wandered across the moor to WindClan. She hadn't eaten a thing since the rabbit Tornshadow had given her, but she didn't feel hungry. She watched the moon climb higher and higher in the sky, waiting anxiously for moonhigh. Once the moon hung high in the sky, Fireblossom's paws itched to be off, but she knew she had to be sneaky about it. With a furtive glance over her shoulder, she headed toward the dirtplace tunnel and slipped out into the moonbathed forest.
Her heart soared and she pelted toward Fourtrees, running so fast that she felt like she was flying. She soon as the massive oaks came into view, she slowed down to a trot, pushing through the undergrowth quietly. Opening her jaws to taste the air, the white and ginger she-cat detected Tornshadow's scent. As she poked her head through the ferns that skirted the clearing, she saw him, sitting on the root of an oak, the moonlight shining on his tabby-and-white fur. With a grin, she stepped out into the clearing and bounded up to him, drinking in his warm scent that seemed so familiar, despite their just having met.
"You came," she mewed, her voice barely a whisper. She had to stretch up onto her tip toes to press the top of her head underneath his chin. He was such a big, strong tomcat, so unusual for a WindClan warrior. A purr rumbled deep within her throat as she rubbed against him, but then she gasped and sprang backwards, slightly embarrassed by her actions. Fumbling her paws in the dust, she kept her eyes fixed on the ground, aware of his icy blue gaze scorching into her. She had acted too freely, she realized; but it felt as though she had known Tornshadow her whole life. For a reason she could not understand, she felt more comfortable around the fearsome WindClan warrior than any of her Clanmates. But perhaps he didn't feel the same. She felt ashamed of the way she had greeted him, but peered up through her short white lashes to meet his gaze.

SO I WON'T LET YOU CLOSE ENOUGH TO HURT ME( • NO,I WON'T ASK YOU, YOU TO JUST DESERT ME • )
Tornshadow's heart skipped a beat when he saw Fireblossom bounding toward him, and he rose to his paws. Relief flooded over him and he felt guilty for doubting that she wouldn't come. He didn't know why she arranged this forbidden meeting, but he didn't care.
He barely heard Fireblossom's whisper as she came up to him, and when she suddenly pressed against him, he was shocked, but he also felt a strong sense of longing. For a moment, he breathed in her warm scent, and strangely wanted to stay like that for moons. But the moment didn't last, and a cold feeling spread through out Tornshadow's chest almost immediately after Fireblossom moved away from it, and he almost asked her why she had done so.
Though, as hard as Tornshadow found it to stay where he was, he couldn't help but take a step forward. Then another one.. and another one. He continued to pad toward Fireblossom, until his fur was a hair-length away from brushing hers. Suddenly, the feeling of longing that he had experienced earlier, grew by so much, that it was overwhelming. Tornshadow pressed his muzzle against Fireblossom's neck, letting her head rest against his own neck. He wrapped his paw around her front leg, and drank in her somehow familiar warm, sweet scent. Tornshadow didn't know what to say, so he said nothing, and stood still with his eyes shut.

Fireblossom was expecting to see a look of shock and anger in his eyes; he seemed like the type of cat who didn't like to be touched unless it was in battle, especially not by an enemy warrior. But her heart filled with joy when she saw the longing in his dazzling blue eyes, and it skipped a beat when he padded up to her and gazed down at her. She lifted her head to look into his eyes, her own mismatched gaze shimmering with emotion. The young white and ginger she-cat was filled with so many emotions, she felt as if she might explode. She was feeling a profound sense of happiness, perhaps for the first time since her mother died. She was also feeling scared, but excited at the same time. And at that moment, she knew that her life would not be complete without Tornshadow by her side. She knew that she could always walk beside him, their pelts brushing closely.
"Tornshadow," she whispered, her breath stirring the long fur of his neck. She loved the feel of his name on her tongue, and she wished she could yowl it out loud for all of Silverpelt. Fireblossom felt reassured by the WindClan warrior's strong presence as he pressed up against her, and she knew that he felt the same way. The she-cat pressed her little pink nose into his soft, downy fur, inhaling his scent like it was the most intoxicating catmint. Then, with a sigh, she pulled away from him, making a great effort not to stay glued to him. She looked up into his eyes once more. He's so tall, she thought, swooning slightly, despite herself.
"Tornshadow," she mewed again, breathing his name like a sigh from StarClan. "I know this is crazy, but when I'm with you, I feel like...I feel like I belong. I know we just met but...there's something about you." What she did not put into words was that even if StarClan descended into Fourtrees and tried to keep them apart, she would fight her way through the whole of Silverpelt to be with him. Nothing else mattered, as long as she could feel his breath in her ear, his tail brushing gentle against her flank, and know that he was beside her.

Tornshadow felt his name being whispered into his ear, and he craned his head downward so he could look Fireblossom in the eye. He felt her nose press into his fur, and the tingling feeling in his paws spread to fill his entire body.
Honestly, he hadn't expected Fireblossom to voice his exact thoughts. He knew what they were doing was wrong, very wrong, actually, but he felt like he was.. needed when he was with her, and that made him more than happy. He found his own feelings reflected in Fireblossom's odd eyes, too many that he couldn't list them all. "I feel the same way," he breathed, gently rasping his tongue across her ear.

The ginger and white she-cat thought she would explode when she heard his next words. Tornshadow was not an overly friendly or loquacious warrior, which made it all the more special that he had chosen her. Even more strange was the fact that Fireblossom had never even considered taking a mate. She was the type of she-cat who wanted to serve her Clan by being a strong, independent warrior with no loyalties to any single cat. She was also quite difficult to get along with, because of how unhappy she was. The thought struck her as odd. She had never really realized how unhappy and restless she was. She just plodded along, moon after moon, the individual days blending into one another.
But now her life had meaning. She couldn't help but think that this was meant to happen. StarClan must have destined us to be together, she thought, praying that it was true. Why else would her warrior ancestors have let her wander into WindClan territory at the exact moment that Tornshadow was there? And the surge of what can only be described as rightness that Fireblossom felt when she looked into his eyes for the first time; that couldn't have been a coincidence. The young she-cat was not a hopeless romantic, not the type to fall in love at first sight, so the only possible explanation was that she and Tornshadow were brought together by StarClan. This can't be wrong, it just can't! Not when I feel like this...
"But...how can we be together?"
[/b] She meowed, her voice quavering with badly suppressed emotion. "Then again, how can we stay apart? Still, we have a problem."[/b] She did not want to think about the obstacles they would face. She wanted to be able to look into the future and see herself side by side with Tornshadow, getting to know him, having his kits, raising them to be strong, skillful warriors just like their father, and then retiring to the elders' den together, to spend the rest of their days resting and sharing tongues side by side. She sighed as she thought of it, and pressed herself against his massive body once more, hoping to draw strength from him commanding presence. Fireblossom closed her eyes, reluctant to move away. Tornshadow felt as though the wind was knocked out of him when he looked at Fireblossom, and he wasn't prepared to answer her question, or come up with a good one, for that matter. Yes, this was a question that would make Tornshadow want to forget. They were breaking numerous rules in the warrior code, and he was a very, very loyal cat to his Clan. But now, he couldn't just abandon Fireblossom, after the feelings they'd shared with each other.
"Fireblossom.. I don't know." he murmured, disappointed that they had such little options. Why must they have Clan bounderies? If only they could be together without having to worry about a thing. But why would they suddenly fall in love like this if it were against StarClan's will? Surely this was their destiny.
"This was.. just so sudden. I never planned for this to happen," he began, hastily adding, but I'm so glad it did. I know.. that I'm going against everything that I've been taught as a kit by saying this.. but.. I love you, no matter what." Tornshadow was shocked at himself; he had never spoken so much at a time before. He pressed his nose into Fireblossom's warm, soft fur, as if it would make all their problems disappear. But he knew that wasn't possible, no matter how much he wanted it to be.

Fireblossom sighed deeply, listening to the sound of his voice. What he said was true, and she could tell that it took him a great effort to say those words. She flicked her ears, lashing her tail angrily. Why did it have to be so difficult!?
"Perhaps we're being too hasty. This is all happening so fast. Why don't we just enjoy tonight, and we'll worry about everything in the morning." She smiled, tilting her head to one side, sure that this was the right option. "We'll figure this out, I promise. We will be together, no matter what it takes." She pressed her body up against him, hoping not only to comfort him, but herself as well. They would draw strength from eachother. Fireblossom didn't want to think about their future, which twisted and curved into uncertainty. She wanted to just enjoy the moment, to be with Tornshadow without having to worry. Hoping to lighten the mood, she sprang away from him and assumed the hunter's crouch,, waggling her haunches as if to spring. With a yowl of triumph, she launched her compact body towards him, barreling into him, hoping to send him off his feet. Once he was on his back, she loomed over him, her forepaws pressed against his chest. With a deep, throaty purr, she nuzzled him gently.

Tornshadow wanted so depserately to be able to believe Fireblossom, but deep down he knew he couldn't. He knew that when the awoke the next morning, things would be different. They would have to make difficult choices, and things would get much more complicated. But she was still right, he realized. He wanted to enjoy their night together as much as he could, and not worry about tomorrow.
Lost in thought, Tornshadow was unprepared for Fireblossom's tackle, and he let out a grunt of surprise as he hit the ground with a thud. He laughed - something that he hadn't done in a long time - and wrapped his front legs around Fireblossom's smaller body, pulling her into his secure grasp. His eyes shined with warmth as she nuzzled him, and he licked her cheek affectionately.

The young ginger-splashed warrior purred with happiness, leaning into him as he licked her affectionately. Pushing all her doubts to the back of her mind, she slithered off of him and yawned, arching her back in a luxurious stretch. It amazed her how comfortable she felt around the WindClan warrior. With a smile, she ran her tail gently along his flank before she settled down into a comfortable position, her head on her front paws. With a glance at the night sky, she could see that dawn was fast approaching, and she was exhausted, despite her earlier excitement. Yawning again, she beckoned to him to lay down beside her.

Tornshadow felt his fur grow uncomfortably cold as Fireblossom slipped off of him, and he blinked in amusement as she ran her tail gently down his flank. Lifting himself to his paws, he briefly glanced around the moonlit clearing, just in case, before lying down beside Fireblossom.
Pressing is much larger body against hers, Tornshadow licked her cheek affectionately. "Will you be here in the morning?" he asked quietly, gently twining his tail with hers. He knew that she was curious on why he asked that, but sometimes he felt as though someone would betray him. Not that he didn't trust Fireblossom, it was just that he was a bit distrustful. Though when he finds someone he could trust, he puts all his trust into them, like he did now with Fireblossom.

Fireblossom purred, letting the warmth of his large body seep into her thin fur like the brightest rays of sunlight. With a sigh of contentment, she set to grooming his fur, running her tongue gently along his flank in rhythmic strokes, purring happily. At his question, she flicked her ears, and a mrrow of laughter escaped her delicate mouth.
"Of course, you stupid furball," she meowed, flicking her tail affectionately across his back and letting it rest there like a comforting embrace. "I will go where you go, for the rest of my days. Even if our bodies are forced apart by our Clans, I will always be with you,"

Tornshadow purred in content and started to groom Fireblossom's pelt in return. His eyes closed and he began to get drowsy as the soothing purrs that came from Fireblossom's throat slowly lulled him to sleep. Usually, if a cat had called him stupid, he would've ripped their tails off. But Fireblossom was an exception. The only exception. "And I'll always protect you," he murmured softly, his tail-tip flicking against the ground as he rasped his tongue across Fireblossom's pelt in long, gentle strokes.
His large body wrapped around hers in a warm embrace, Tornshadow sighed and stopped grooming Fireblossom's pelt so he could rest his head on her neck. His breathing slowed, and he was barely on the brink of falling asleep. His long, soft fur brushed against Fireblossom's entire body, and he loved the feeling of holding something so dear in his grasp.
