With the mid-morning sun beating down on her, the light orange she-cat padded into camp, two mice dangling from her mouth. They swung with her silent steps and the motion of her head as green eyes glanced around camp before their owner headed toward the fresh-kill pile. Lowering her head, the warrior set her catches on the pile, perfectly content. The weather was lovely and ThunderClan was strong, with enough prey. What more could a warrior ask for?
Lightstep, as her named suggested, moved away from the pile on silent paws. Though she had woken at dawn to the bird song, the she-cat did not need to eat yet. She could survive little while longer without food; she was not starving. Glancing around again as she neared the edge of camp, the warrior turned and sat. A long, light orange tail wrapped around white paws as she watched the camp in action. Figuring that she could afford to not immediately go out on a hunt, Lightstep relaxed, completely comfortable sitting in the shadows.

Fallensnow walked out of the medicine den and looked around. No injuries, good she thought. The she looked and saw Lightstep and trotted over to her. Hey Lightstep, how's it going? she asked the warrior

An orange head turned at the sound of her name, and moss green eyes stared at the other cat for a moment before recognizing Fallensnow. Wondering why the medicine cat had decided to join her - had she seen Lightstep skip taking a piece of prey and come to tell her off for it? - the warrior dipped her head in a polite nod. "Hello, Fallensnow," Her tone was respectful to the ThunderClan medicince cat, and the tip of her orange tail twitched slightly, though she did not remove it from her paws. She gave the other she-cat a small smile, though she did not offer any other expressions. "I'm doing well, thank you for asking. How has your day been so far? It's a lovely day out, great for hunting, and probably for gathering herbs as well."
While she waited for a reply, her eyes glanced around camp again, more due to habit than anything else. The warrior preferred to know her surroundings, which made it pretty hard to sneak up on her. If one did manage that, she was almost always ready to attack or dodge. But Lightstep completely relaxed herself now, the pleasant weather soothing her. Though the camp had been silent when she had woken and left to hunt, it was now full of noise: playing kits, gossiping elders and complaining apprentices. That in itself was calming, and provided her with a sense of comfort. Everything was as it should be.

Lightstep
Lightstep let out a soft chuckle at Fallensnow's words, giving her a quick smile. Flicking her light orange tail, the warrior responded politely in turn, "Yes, even medicine cats needs their rest. I suppose we take all of you medicine cats for granted - you're always there and help us, but I don't think anyone ever realizes how much work it can be, am I correct?" She paused, wrapping her orange tail around white paws, and turned her attention back to Fallensnow before continuing, "But in any case, thank you for helping everyone when they get hurt. ThunderClan, every clan really, does need its medicine cat."
Deep insight over, Lightstep shifted uncomfortably. Those thoughts had often come to mind when thinking about medicine cats, but she had never actually said them before. The warrior found herself worried at Fallensnow's reaction, and now, in the silence that had fallen, she had time to worry over it. But her imagination was always worse than reality... right?

The she-cat nodded in agreement. Yes it is true. No one really knows how hard us medicine cats work to save lives. she said. She thought of all the lives she helped but then the ones she didn't save. She sighed at that thought and then looked at Lightstep. Oh lightstep, you didn't have to say that. I done alot for this clan and it is true that every clan does need a medicine cat or else there would be no clans cause of the sickness. She said. [/size]
