Wolfjaw followed her into camp, his yellow eyes shinning. The sun was just breaking the horizon when he placed his kill in the fresh kill pile. The first prey of the day caught. He kept the mouse he had caught and decided that it would be enough for him to eat for now.
He brushed against her as he settled down to eat. He waited for her to select her pray and come over to him before he took a single bite. After all, there was no need to rush spending more time with her. She fascinated him, since she was far from easy to read. Now at lease he could tell she enjoyed his company, otherwise she would have made up some excuse to leave.
"You are something else," he mused with mischief in his eyes. Something about her made him feel warm from nose to tail tip when she was close. It was as if she woke up a part of him that otherwise hid sleeping within his soul. It was strange, all of this 'feeling' stuff he was experiencing. Usually he was a go with the flow sort of cat who didnt really pay attention to love, or romance or anything really besides taking care of his clan. Spottedpelt, however, had this way of making him forget that there was anyone else in the forest but her and him.

Spottedpelt's ears angled slightly outwards, and her tail flicked from side to side in content. The night she'd spent with Wolfjaw had been more than great, and now she even felt a bit disappointed that they wouldn't be able to be together for the whole day, with patrolling and hunting and whatnot. She blinked as Wolfjaw brushed past her, and a shiver ran down her spine.
Silver-gray eyes sparkled fondly with mischief as she picked out a small blackbird and sat down considerably close beside Wolfjaw. "I'll take that as a compliment," Spottedpelt winked, a grin playing at her lips before taking another bite out of her blackbird. Her long, bushy tail positioned itself a hair-length by Wolfjaw's tail. Spottedpelt decided that she would drop a few hints in front of Wolfjaw to see how he reacted, and possibly figure out what he felt for her. In this case, Spottedpelt was hinting that she wanted Wolfjaw to twine tails with hers. After all, it's always the tom who makes the first move, right?
For now though, Spottedpelt couldn't identify what bond they had between them. She definetely had feelings for Wolfjaw, but they were still unreadble, so their future together could not be made out clearly. However, in the back of her mind, Spottedpelt wanted Wolfjaw to be in her life in the future, and she wanted to be in his. They were both currently in a phase where neither of them could make a confident statement.

Wolfjaw flicked his tail about, an impulse of her touch against it. Then his thoughts caught up with him. Cautiously he swung his tail closer to hers, then delicately wound it ever so gently with hers. He didnt want to seem forward or awkward, so he tried his best to make it casual and non threatening. As if unaware of what his tail's actions were, he simply leaned down and took a bite of his mouse. he glanced over at her through the corner of his eyes to see what her reaction had been to his forward motion.
"You should take that as a compliment," He mewed between bites, "I've never met another cat like you," He licked his lips and pulled his head away from the mouse to look up at her. His yellow eyes met with hers and he held them there a moment without blinking.

Spottedpelt's fur prickled all over as Wolfjaw gently twined his tail with hers, and she even curled her own in return. She glanced away for a moment, as if nothing happened. The smile on her face appeared friendly, but if you looked closely, it had a bit of mischief in it.
Spottedpelt felt Wolfjaw's gaze burn into her, so finally she turned her head and their eyes met. It was like staring into golden pools of sunshine that reflected her own feelings, which made her own heart skip a beat. "And I've never met a tom like you who always seems to enjoy staring at me," she teased in response. Her gaze briefly lowered, and Spottedpelt sized him up.
Wolfjaw was a handsome tom, and his large, muscular build made her want to snuggle deep into his warm fur. When her eyes returned to his own, her ears grew hot again and she blushed. Looking away, she finished the last of her blackbird in a few famished bites, tail remaining curled around Wolfjaw's.

"What can I say, He purred in good humor, "I just cant seem to look away no matter how hard I try," He blushed, and in contradiction looked away in slight embarrassment to have admitted such a serious truth to the shecat. He quickly took another bite of his mouth to make himself busy and his tail twitched a bit within the confines of hers. He was not used to being so forward and honest about his emotions or his thoughts.
He wondered what was going on in her head, it still remained a mystery to him. Shecats minds tended to all be that way for him. When his mouse was gone he no longer had something to busy himself with, so again he was forced to turn toward her. He didnt want to move too fast and scare her off, but at the same time he loved being around her, and secretly wished he could just stay that way forever.

Spottedpelt raised a brow in surprise and said nothing for a moment. He couldn't look away from her? What was so special about her? Spottedpelt frowned for a heartbeat, going over the very long list of all the bad things about her, but she knew she'd never be able to list everything. No one was perfect, but sometimes it didn't hurt to dream.
"You don't look like you're trying very much," she pointed out, an amused grin playing at her lips. Spottedpelt was finally cracking Wolfjaw open, finally being able to see some of his feelings and thoughts. When ever Wolfjaw looked at her, it was like he was seeing Silverpelt for the first time. It didn't bother her, but instead, it confused her a bit. Then realization hit her.
She never even thought about herself looking at Wolfjaw the way he looked at her. She never thought that anything was wrong with him, and didn't know why he was so fascinating. It hadn't occured to her that maybe Wolfjaw was thinking this in his own mind as well. Smiling, she briefly gave her chest a swift lick. "Out of all cats, why did you choose to hunt with me last night?" she asked suddenly, curiosity prickling through her fur.

Wolfjaw didnt even have to think, the answer was completely natural, and he figured he better just say it the way it was. "To me you're the most amazing cat in Shadowclan. Lately we've been getting the same patrols and stuff, and you just stand out..." He posed a second thinking of how to word what was on his mind. "I asked you to hunt with me because I wanted to get to know you more. You make me feel... alive." He gave a half grin, but eyes lit up with slight worry for having worn his heart on his paw. Oh foxdung I probably said too much and she's going to think I'm a mousebrained fool! He shifted his weight on his paws and pulled his tail from hers to hold wrap it tightly around his body to make himself feel more secure. He felt rather like a frightened kit seeing the world for the first time. That was what this feeling felt like to him. This feeling he had for Spottedpelt that he could not explain other than never wanting to leave her side.

Spottedpelt listened in shock and surprise as Wolfjaw explained himself. Where is he getting at? she wondered silently as she stayed silent until he finished. Her mind reeled, and she tried to make sense of all the new thoughts that burst into her mind. What exactly was he saying? That he had feelings for her? And the only thing that actually made apprehension prickle through her fur, was that Wolfjaw had echoed her exact feelings for him.
Now that he described it, Spottedpel realized more and more that it was true. She felt the same way; she was certain of it now. When Wolfjaw jerked his tail away, she felt slightly offended, but didn't do or say anything about it. She just sat there and thought it over. Finally, she took a deep breath and opened her jaws to speak.
"That's a bit strange... because I feel the same way," she meowed quietly. For once, her voice was neither humerous or cheerful, but instead full of wonder and something like longing. Spottedpelt didn't like the anxious, troubled look on Wolfjaw's face, and simply wanted to be joking around and laughing with him again, instead of having an awkward conversation.

Wolfjaw's eyes lit up and he seemed to melt off his ridged exterior and shift back to the kit like mischief he had possessed at previous hours. "Really?" he purred his ears pulled forward. He sat up a bit and let his tail fall further away from his body so he appeared more relaxed, no happy. He felt like a large weight had lifted off his shoulders. He got to his paws and moved closer to her, He wasnt liking how awkward he had allowed this to get, it needed to change fast or the moment would be ruined. He stopped in front of her and gazed down into her eyes. The crooked smile returned to his lips and he sat up on his haunches and held up his paws. He gave her a playful bat on the ear. "Enough of this mushy stuff it ruffles my fur!" he purred troublesomely. He didnt even seem tired from being out all night hunting, but he was sure if he laid down he'd pass out within moments. He pushed the thought away. Everyone was still silent in their nests, they could still pretend for at least a few more heartbeats that they were the only two cats alive.

Spottedpelt smiled, though instead of being a humerous smile, it shone with sincerity and warmth. "Really," she confirmed, curling her tail neatly around her paws, then uncurling it and repeating the process.
As Wolfjaw padded up to her, she locked eyes with him and didn't move away even when his nose was a hair-length away from hers. She growled playfully when he batted her ear, and she swiped an unseathed paw at his chin followed by a mrrow of laughter. "How can you say that when you're a ball of mush yourself? she retorted, the tension in the air immediately lifting until it was completely replaced with humor and amusement.

Wolfjaw gave a playful growl and lashed his tail in preparation to attack again. He rolled over onto his back and batted up at her with his paws. "I am not!" he huffed with a mrrow back, "Would you rather me be boring and emotionless? I didnt think so!" he batted again up at her, his eyes glowing. This was what he had always wanted, someone who knew exactly what to do to make everything make sense. He turned into a mushy meower, she listened. he started playing, she didnt linger on the awkward and instead played along. He felt his body starting to grow numb on the ground and his body seemed to relax.

Spottedpelt craned her neck downwards so she could look at Wolfjaw, and squeaked when he batted his paws up at her. "I'd rather you be yourself," she grinned. Hesitating for a brief moment, Spottedpelt leaned down and nuzzled his cheek, before pulling her muzzle away. Mischief and excitement shone in her silver-gray eyes, as if daring Wolfjaw to say anything about her surprising action.
Though before he could reply, Spottedpelt suddenly felt her joints ache and let a yawn escape her throat. She noticed that her eye-lids were beginning to droop, and she felt exhausted. Looking down at Wolfjaw again, she smiled. "I'm tired. Do you wanna share a nest and sleep for a while?" she asked causually, as if it were the most simple concept in the world. More than a part of Spottedpelt wanted to be pressed up against Wolfjaw, and feel the safe, securing warmth of his large body.

Wolfjaw got up to his paws and nodded. "Sure" He mewed back, like her acting as if this question was totally normal. He tried not to make it obvious how much he wanted to just curl up next to her and sleep. He let a yawn escape too, feeling his body get heavy like his fur was soaked in water. He blinked sleeply and looked over at the warriors den. "Thanks... for coming hunting with me" His yellow eyes glowed with happiness. He got to his paws and walked over to the entrance to the Den. Holding out a paw he gestured with his head inside. "After you, my lady" He teased in a troublesome purr.
Things couldnt really be this perfect could they? I mean the peaces dont just fall into place and suddenly the world is exactly what you wished it to be all your life.

Spottedpelt shuddered in excitement when Wolfjaw agreed to take a nap with her. Itching to carry on to the warriors' den, she stopped when he started to speak again, and when he finished, she locked eyes with him. "Thanks for asking me to come," she meowed back, her voice soft and even affectionate.
Following Wolfjaw to the warriors' den, she grinned in humor as he held up a paw and gestured her inside. "My, my, what a gentletom!" she purred, raising a brow in fake disblief. As she entered the den, her pelt brushed against Wolfjaw's, and the warmth that came from it made her whiskers quiver. Spotting his nest among others, Spottedpelt padded toward it, careful not to step on any sleeping cats.
Lying down in it, Wolfjaw's scent was strong, and Spottedpelt freelly took a deep breath. His familiar scent made her want him, and her silver-gray eyes sparkled as she gestured with a flick of her ear for Wolfjaw to join her. The nest was barely big enough to fit the two of them, and Spottedpelt decided that that was a good thing. It gave her the excuse to snuggle closer to him.
