Duskpaw trotted out of the camp entrance, shaking off the loose thorns that may have caught in his fur. He faced Leafwhisper and Cedarpaw with a nervous, but determined expression. "S-so where are w-we g-going?" he asked, miserebly failing in trying to keep his voice from trembling. He heard a bird sqwuak from a nearby tree, and he jumped in surprise. Embarrassed at his pathetic scene, he stared down at his paws.

Cedarpaw looked at the beautiful sight around them. Ah so pretty She thought. When she looked ahead of her, she saw that Leafwhisper went his own way and Cedarpaw looked at Duskpaw. Well, I was thinking The Great Sycamore She said happily. It was one of her favorite spots.

Duskpaw tilted his head to the side, and didn't notice as Leafwhisper left the two apprentices to be by themselves. The Great Sycamore? He knew that sycamores were trees, but why was this one referred to as "great"? Curious, bust still nervous, Duskpaw walked alongside Cedarpaw as they headed toward the Great Sycamore. He was so close to Cedarpaw that he was practically flanking her, but not close enough that their fur would brush.
When they emerged into a sunlit clearing, Duskpaw gasped and his eyes widened. A large, the largest tree he had ever seen in his life, stood before him, its large branches twisting and turning.
It looked almost as if the leaves could touch Silverpelt, and Duskpaw wondered for a moment if the so-called "StarClan" sometimes came down from the parodise of their hunting grounds into the living-world through thr Great Sycamore. He still didn't believe in StarClan, but sometimes he prayered to them that they would keep him safe. So maybe that was a start.

Cedarpaw was happy that they were alone, so that they could atleast talk about their problems. When they got there, she had the biggest smile on her face. Her favorite place to come when her father taught her her fighting moves. Isn't it beautiful? She asked him. Then she didn't see the root and stumbled into Duskpaw.

Duskpaw managed a tiny smile, and nodded as his wide eyes stared up at the gigantic sycamore. Suddenly, he felt a heavy weight crash into him, and he yowled in surprise. Terrified, his first instinct was to shoot forwards and up the tree. Heart pounding against his chest, he was already far up the tree, but he kept going.
When he realized that there was no high-picthed laughing behind him, he warily glanced over his shoulder and almost fell off the Great Sycamore. Oh, no. Trembling in fear, he tried to carefully inch his way down the tree trunk, but couldn't. "H-h-help!" he wailed, his legs threatening to give out at any moment.

After Cedarpaw crashed into duskpaw, she hit the ground. When she got back up she looked around and then in the tree. Oh no She thought. When she herd his cry, she shot up into the tree and onto a branch that was a couple feet down from him. Duskpaw, I know your scared, What I want you to do is don't look down and slowly slide down. She tried to instruct him.

Duskpaw tried to listen to Cedarpaw, and slide hastilly down the massive tree trunk, but it didn't work. His muscles were screaming in exhaustion by now, and his claws were beginning to scrape down the trunk, unable to support his weight any longer.
Suddenly, his legs gave out from under him. With a terrorfied shriek, Duskpaw crashed to the ground, legs flailing in desperate panic in the air as he fell. Mind racing, his eyes shut tightly and he braced himself. His weight slammed against the forest floor, knocking the wind right out of his lungs. He gasped, but couldn't breathe from shock. Dizzy, everything went black.

The day seemed just like any other in ThunderClan as a young tom wandered around camp, rather bored. The camp was boring with cats doing their own thing, minding their businesses. Seeing as no cats were bleeding or near-dead in camp, Rainpaw decided to make his way out to the forest.
The forest greeted him with faint rustles of undergrowth and choruses of wild life. The sights and sounds were all familiar as Rainpaw had tread the same forest for his whole life now. Yet again everything seemed boring, nothing out of the ordinary.
That was when he heard a distant shriek. It was faint but loud enough to startle birds into flight. Watery blue eyes looked around in alarm, ears perked as legs ran on their own, his instincts guiding him to the noise. A muffled thud sounded moments after, urging him to run faster. Rainpaw burst into the area where the Great Sycamore was, shocked to find his two clanmates. Wide eyes narrowed in on the small tabby body on the forest ground. It was Duskpaw.
"What's going on?! What happened here?" Rainpaw snapped, alarmed at the sight of his clanmate. Although he was a medicine cat apprentice, this was his first time facing a problem alone without his mentor. A mix of fear and apprehension washed over him though he tried not to show it.

Duskpaw groaned and when he attempted to lift himself into a sitting position, he shrieked in pain. His shoulder had been dislocated, and the pain was so strong that he could feel fire searing through his entire leg. "Ow..." he sobbed, trembling after his frightening experience. It had felt unreal, actually, to fall out of a tree like that. He realized though, that things could've been worse. But in the back of his mind, he did wish he would be in a worse position, like death. It wasn't like his life was happy and cheerful anyway, so he could've just ended his misery. But of course, he just had to live after a fall like that. Instead of trying to move again, Duskpaw lay motionless on the ground and simply waited for Rainpaw's instructions. In a position like this, he didn't care if he knew nothing of the cats he were forced to live with.

When Duskpaw wen past her, she gasped, The next thing she saw was him not moving. Oh no I killed him She thought. Quickly Cedarpaw jumped from branch to branch and then to the ground. She hurried over to Duskpaw and looked at him. This is totally all my fault, If I hadn't tripped into you, this wouldn't have happened. Oh no. oh no! She said freaking out and ignoring that Rainpaw was even there. She cared for Duskpaw to much.
Then an idea popped into her head. She acted quickly. Cedarpaw bent down and then put her head where his stomach was and put him on her back. He wasn't heavy for her. Hang in there duskpaw, I'll get you to camp She said starting to walk carefully back to camp.

Duskpaw whimpered as Cedarpaw lifted him onto her back, and he gasped in pain when he tried to move his shoulder. His breaths were quick and shallow as he completely let himself hang limp as Cedarpaw carried him back to camp. "Just... leave me... there's no... point..." he choked out, still trying to regain the air into his lungs after having it knocked out of him.
He was trying to tell Cedarpaw that she just left him out in the woods for some fox or something else that's dangerous to come across him. It wasn't like he had a life anyway, so it wouldn't matter if he died. At least, no one cared about him. Duskpaw was just another rogue that was taken into a place where he felt he didn't belong.

Cedarpaw shook her head. No I'm not leaving you out here to die, okay. That isn't what we do, we protect and care for one another, Just like how much I care about you. She said making her way onto the path near the river. She was scared to say that she had loved him and anyways what would he think? Would he run away from her or ignore her. All the thoughts went through her head.

Duskpaw wasn't really able to think at the moment, so he simply said nothing as Cedarpaw explained how the Clans cared for each other. Though what confused him was when she said that she cared for him too. Did she, really? No. Duskpaw dismissed the thought immediately. She was probably just talking about how she cared for all her Clan mates.
Duskpaw knew that he shouldn't build up false hope, that someone might've actually liked it, because he could've gotton hurt all over again. Alone and lonely forever will be how he'll live, he decided miserably. He couldn't change his future, after all. "I want to die..." he begged, his voice now high-pitched like a wailing kit in distress. He never thought he'd say something like this, but his life was just too horrible to endure.

When she herd what he had said next, anger flowed through her and she immediately flung him off of her. You know what?! Atleast I care about you and Plus I have feelings for you, Duskpaw. So if you want to die, then go drown yourself and see if I care, cause you know what, I will save you or end up dying myself! She said angerly to him.

Duskpaw gasped in surprise but didn't have enough time to make a sound as he was suddenly thrown to the ground. He landed on the forest floor with a thud, and he shrieked in agony. He had unfortunately landed on his injured shoulder. Face twisted in pain, Duskpaw looked up at Cedarpaw with wide eyes. "W-what?" he choked, his voice barely a whisper as his flanks heaved from the effort of enduring the firey pain searing through his shoulder.
What did she mean by, "I have feelings for you"? Every one of his Clan mates had feelings for him. And those included: hate, scorn, and disgust. It was obvious when they looked at Duskpaw that they didn't like having him in their Clan. He had often spent most of his time in the apprentices' den whenever his mentor wasn't taking him out for training, which rarely ever occured.
