Smokesight sat waiting for his apprentice to meet him for battle training. He hoped some of the other apprentices and their mentors would want to tag along, as it was easier for the apprentices to learn the moves on a cat around their size. Plus all apprentices tended to like rolling around and mock fighting with each other when they were in camp, so might as well channel that into some training. He gave his shoulder a few quick licks and thumped the end of his tail softly on the ground. The sun was bright overhead, it was the perfect day for this.

Sunnypaw bounded into camp, a few foxlengths behind Scorpionpaw. Brushing against the thorn entrance, she shook her pelt and looked around camp. The mainecoon smiled brightly when she saw her mentor, Smokesight, and she walked over to him happily. "Hey Smokesight! What kind of training are we going to do today? Fighting?” She asked enthusiastically, shifting from paw to paw. Her amber eyes gleamed with excitement.
After a moments pause, the apprentice continued. "... Can some other cats come too?” She asked, wondering what the answer would be. "I' think it'd be fun to train with some friends,” the orange she-cat explained, smiling.

Smokesight smiled down at his apprentice, "I was thinking the exact same thing," He mewed, "And we're doing battle training today, the weather is perfect for it and the hollow should be dry now after the rain earlier this week. I was hoping to get some of the other apprentices and mentors to tag along so you all can practice together." He looked around wondering if anyone else was still in camp. Maybe I should have said something earlier, I hope all the apprentices arn't out already His gaze fell on scorpionpaw and he added, "What do you say, Scorpianpaw? Up for some battle training today?"
ooc: silly question, how do you make your posts look so cool? I feel like an amateur poster ^^ Most of the posts on this site are all formatted and cool looking and I have no idea how to do it!
ooc2: Know any other mentors and apprentices that can join in? I'm not familiar with all the characters on this site yet :/ |

"So how many cats are we taking? I want to get going! And yeah Scorpionpaw, wanna come?" The mainecoon's whiskers twitched unvoluntarily. The exited apprentice turned, facing Skyrush.
"Of course you can come!" The impaitent she-cat answered before her mentor could. She jumped into a crouch, tensing her muscles to pounce. She Leaped over Smokesight's head, hoping to scare him. "I bet I scared ya!"

Frostcloud emerged from the entrance to the nursery, still purring from visiting the queens and kits. She would find any excuse she could to be in there. She saw a group of apprentices and mentors gathered to go do battle training. She had never been very into fighting, I suppose it was the kitypet in her that made her think blood and claws were not the best solution to any problem. Being only the size of a 9-10 moon old apprentice she felt uncomfortable sparing with the other warriors on those rare occasions they got together to mock battle. Somehow when these such events occurred she was no where to be found. Still she needed to refresh her skills every now and then so she didnt totally forget how to fight. She padded over toward them, hoping maybe they would let her tag along. Sparring with apprentices seemed much more apealing to her, since she didnt have to worry about her size being an issue. She saw Smokesight organizeing the group and walked up to him, tilting back her head so she could fix her violate-blue eyes on him. "Is it alright if I tag along? I could really use a refresher lesson." Her eyes dazzled up at him as she spoke. [ooc: sorry name issue. Shes now Frostcloud and I had to try my best and remember what i posted earlier. I think i got it pretty on the spot so pretend whats before this OOC is what i posted earlier. ] Frostcloud looked away from Smokesight and over to the ancie apprentice. She twitched her whiskers with amusement, wishing she still had that much energy. "Thanks Sunnypaw, and I'm ready to go when you all are" she mewed. She bit back laughter as the apprentice launched herself at her mentor's head. |

 Smokesight smiled when he saw Frostcloud "Of course you can come" He added right after his apprentice beat him to saying it. Frowning down at Sunnypaw in a good humored way, he brought his gaze back up to the pretty shecat. They had been spending a lot of time together lately, and he had a hard time containing his happiness that she had invited herself along to battle practice. however this also meant he would have to be impressive and at the top of his game. Sunnypaw of course had no idea what his affections were for the pretty light gray cat in front of him.
This became increasingly evident when she hauled herself right at his face. Smokesight was caught completely off guard and felt rather mousebrained for not having paid more attention to his surroundings. There was something about Frostcloud's eyes that made it hard for him to think strait. Flicking Sunnypaw on the ear he purred, "Alright you got me" he crouched down and batted playfully at her side, making sure not to actually knock her over. |

Frostcloud purred as she watched Smokesight and his apprentice play fight. She seemed to purr a lot lately, particularly when Smokesight was around. She actually had something to tell him, but decided it better wait till later. Wait till you're alone with him she thought to herself. Her blue-violate eyes dazzled in the sunlight. Smokesight was so good with younger cats, it had always impressed her. Most toms have no patience for kits or apprentices, but Smokesight couldnt get enough of them. Giving her chest a few licks she stole a quick glance around the clearing to see who else was about, then turned her gaze back to the apprentice and warrior. "Shall we be off then?" She asked, trying to speed Smokesight along for Sunnypaw seemed impatient to start practicing. ooc: is scorpianpaw coming too? and are we making a new thread or staying on this one and pretending to walk over? |

ooc: Lets just keep it on this post, it makes it easier... Smokesight lead the way to the training hollow. He couldnt wait to see how much his apprentice had learned over the past few moons. Training practice was incredibly important now a days, with the prey being so scarce it was only a matter of time before trouble brewed between the clans. He stole a glance at Frostcloud as they walked, but kept his attention on his apprentice. Your a mentor now, a mate second. This is important He reminded himself. The forest was starting to look alive with lush green leaves and pretty flowers. The question that kept playing over and over in Smokesight's mind was Where was all the prey hiding? |
