Thornstrike padded out of the camp, his whiskers twitching as he scented the air for prey. The area around ShadowClan camp smelled nice and sweet, the way it was meant to be. The tom closed his eyes for a second and just took a deep breath, wondering what to do. Hunting was probably good. It would help the Clan, and it would give him something to do. He needed that.
The tabby tom's eyes brightened with excitement as he thought about his new apprentice, Eaglepaw. He was excited for the first training session, if a bit nervous. It was going to be so different, and so exciting. He was being given a chance to pass on his own training to another cat.
He hoped that maybe today would be different from all the others, not just another part of his life. Thornstrike wanted today to be... Special.

Strikefang was just outside the camp barrior, hidden in the shadows. He was staring up at the darking sky, the tip of his thick furred long tail twitching back and forth with great ease. The blue-eyed tom blinked, letting out a deep sigh of air. The weather seemed good enough for hunting, his favorite part of being a warrior. Perking his too large for him' sized ears, Strikefang turned to see Thornstrike padded out of camp. "Good evening Thornstrike." the runt size of a warrior said, dipping his head. While he didn't talk very much, Strikefang knew it was polite to know another cat he was there.

"Evening Strikefang." Thornstrike said pleasantly, turning to the warrior. His eyes were bright even as he continued to push his excitements to the back of his mind.
Thornstrike was a new warriors, but he was rather large, making it especially noticeable when he was near the rather small tom.
"It's a beautiful day isn't it?" He murmured. Well, his terminology wasn't quite correct; it was turning dark. But it was close enough. Not that bad, really.

Strikefang nodded, wrapping his tail around his thin long legs. "It is." he meowed, blinking. The sunlight reflected on the long, thin scar going from Strikefang's eye, all the way down to his side. The sound of a crow's harsh cries echoed somewhere far out into the terriorty. "I trust that all is well with Eaglepaw?" Strikefang asked, his voice sounding cool, and calm like the warrior he was. He knew Thornstrike was proud of being mentor, thought Strikefang was a tiny bit jeasous himself since he still didn't get an apprentice yet. He all guessed that it was because of his runty size he didn't get one.

Thornstrike's pride swelled like a balloon, his eyes shining with it. "Yes!" He breathed happily. "She's extremely headstrong, but I have a feeling that she'll be a great warrior once she gets some sense knocked into her."
The tom purred softly, his thoughts wandering a bit to tomorrow. What would he teach her? The borders right? And then maybe they would hunt afterwards. Or they would just hunt as they went. That would work just as well.
He heard a soft flutter of wings and a bird's soft cry; nothing like the crow's cry just a second ago. He'd heard from his mother it was a bad sign if he heard a crow twice, but now he thought it was just superstition.

Strikefang nodded as he listened to the younger, bigger warrior talking about his apprentice. "It seems like it. She have be a bit headstrong, but she will make a good warrior." the gray tom meowed with a flick of his thick, fluffy tail. Perking his large ears forward when he heard the crow again, he sighed; rising to his paws. "Would you like to go hunting with me? It seems like a nice time to go." Strikefang asked Thornstrike with a dip of his head. Even thought Strikefang never really interact with the clan much, and usually went by himself when he went hunting(unless on patrol), he did think it was a nice day to be hunting with someone else for a change.

"Sure!" The tabby tom said brightly with a shrug. ShadowClan could always do with more prey, and there was no reason not to hunt. The tabby tom rolled his shoulders and pushed all thoughts of Eaglepaw fully out of his mind and readied himself for hunting.

Strikefang nodded, standing up. When next to Thornstrike, the tom came only about up to his shoulder, and it was Strikefang's large ears that made him seem at least somewhat taller. "Alright then, let's go." the gray tom meowed as he began walking deep into the terriorty, flicking his spikey-furred tail. As the toms walked though the marshy undergrowth, Strikefang kept his ears perked for any sound of prey scurrying, and his baby blue eyes kept darting this way and that for any sighs of fur. With all of the prey in the clan strangley disappearing, it was important they did at least find some for the clan.
