Nettlepaw's eyes locked with Applepaw's for a heartbeat when she looked at him, and a strange sensation prickled through his fur. But the moment ended as quickly as it had began, and his mind was on hunting once more.
"Me, sleep more than a badger?" Runningleap scoffed, raising a brow in amusement. "Just wait until you two are warriors; you'll want to sleep all the time!" he argued, though his green eyes were lit up with a cheerful gleam. Letting out a mrrow of laughter, he turned and trotted off toward the gorse tunnel. Turning back to look at the two apprentices, he rolled his eyes. "Coming?"
Nettlepaw grinned and raced after Runningleap, his fur brushing against Applepaw's for a heartbeat as he ran past, and when he caught up with his mentor, he flashed Applepaw a friendly smile before vanishing into the tunnel.
