When leafwhisper saw Hawkstar talking to cloudpaw, to him it probably want a good sign. The face that the leader made to him, scared him. He padded up beside Cloudpaw and purred. Hawkstar, You don't have to worry, I'll Protect her with my life, I'll be with her every second that I can be. And I'll father the kits He said giving cloudpaw a smile.

Cloudpaw suddenly felt a little fearful of Hawkstar. She had never really thought of him as the leader of the clan, just as her mentor. But with his claws digging in the ground, she realized Leafwhisper might be in trouble. "I-I didn't tell him, he guessed!"

[/color] the white she-cat exlaimed, hating that she had stuttered and looked like a mousebrain. "I dunno, I just do trust him. He actually likes me, Hawkstar, and please don't take that away from me."[/color] Cloudpaw mewed.

Feeling Leafwhisper beside her, she managed to stop her fur from bristling in anger. The she-cat may be very tough and rough on the outside, but something about Leafwhisper brought out the softer side. Cloudpaw was lost in the smile he had given her for a few moments and let out a deep sigh. "My kits will have a father, they won't be screwed up because they were raised by me. I have someone to help me. Can't you just be happy for me?"[/color] she asked Hawkstar.

"Though this still won't make me go into the nursery any sooner."[/color] she murmured.[/blockquote][/blockquote][/size]

Hawkstar's mind reeled as Cloudpaw rounded on him, but he tried to surpress most of his suspicion and anger. "He must've had a pretty lucky guess, isn't that right, Leafwhisper?" he growled to the older warrior, swinging his massive head around to look at him. He became more angry as his apprentice tried to reason with him, though of course she would never win the arguement.

"Oh yes? And are you going to lie to your kits about Leafwhisper being their father? You're can't keep it from them forever, Cloudpaw. Sooner or later, you'll have to tell them about Bramblepaw." he meowed sternly, though his gaze softened. How could she think that Leafwhisper was the only one who liked her? What about Hawkstar, and the rest of ThunderClan? They all held Cloudpaw dearly, and it was sad that she couldn't even see that much.

OOC: Hawkstar pushed the wrong button. Now you see how protective he is over cloudpaw.

Leafwhisper looked at Hawkstar, Staring him right in the eyes, not blinking.Hawkstar, Its not that hard to tell! Just by looking at her, The way her stomach is shaped and how is she the only one big and the rest of us is skin and bones? Anyways Hawkstar, I've been in love with her since she became an apprentice. I never told her because Bramblepaw got to her first. But now, I can tell her how much I care for her and how much I love her. Plus these kits don't have to know who their real father was, I will step in and take good care of them. I'll treat them right and make sure they don't get into trouble. He said

Hawkstar didn't interupt Leafwhisper, and he was slightly impressed at the way he spoke about Cloudpaw. Though that didn't change his thoughts. "Just think about how betrayed they'll feel when they find out you two lied to them," he growled slowly. He remembered his own parents. He had lived happily with his mother and father until he became an apprentice. Then, they admit that his father wasn't actually his father, and his real one died after he was born.

Cloudpaw hated this lecture, it was getting old and boring, and it was only adding stress and guilt to her. She didn't need any more guilt, she already had enough, and stress surely wasn't good for the kits. Her paws suddenly became the most interesting thing ever as she studied them. The she-cat had become very quiet and was actually allowing herself to be spoken to like that.

Hearing Leafwhisper talking about her she looked back up. He had loved her since she had been made an apprentice? Why hadn't she seen that? Was she really that blind? But he was right, Bramblepaw had gotten to her first, though she never truly loved him, they were more best friends than anything.

Sighing she looked at Hawkstar, finally able to talk. "I don't want Leafwhisper to replace...him, the kits will know they had a wonderful father, he would have loved them and taken care of them, I know. But StarClan decided to take him away, and give them a new father, one that could help out even more."

[/color] she tried to explain. Cloudpaw was unable to say Bramblepaw's name, just even thinking about him was making her queasy and a little upset. The apprentice was feeling exhausted, from what little training she had done, and from this little 'discussion'. The kits were becoming restless and she winced a little in pain. Hawkstar couldn't believe what he was hearing. Now she was blaming StarClan for taking her friend - or in this case - mate from her? His reply came as a furious hiss. "StarClan did not take him from you! It was his time to join them!" His claws flexed in and out and his tail lashed angrily. Seeing Cloudpaw expecting kits like that, and then having a much-older warrior offer to be their father was a disgraceful scene to Hawkstar.

Leafwhisper looked at cloudpaw and then looked at the ground. It was true that he was in love with her but after what she said, he looked at her and saw her face, pain. Cloudpaw, Are you okay? He asked worried. He didn't want anything bad happening to her or the kits.

Cloudpaw's fur was bristling by this point. She had been given the perfect mentor, even though the butted heads. It was a cat that could match her stubbornness. "StarClan is a bunch of make believe cats that elders tell stories to kits about. They aren't real. If they were, why would so many cats in my life die? You can't say that everyone around me is suppose to die. It isn't everyone's time."

[/color] Her mind was thinking of her sister. Whitekit wasn't suppose to die that day, and she wasn't suppose to survive. Her mother wasn't suppose to leave her either, but StarClan had taken her away also.

Hearing Leafwhisper's voice made the white apprentice calm down a little. "I'm fine."[/color] she said to him softly, not able to look him in the eyes. Cloudpaw was lying, and the more upset she got the more the pain intensified. She was a tough she-cat, and though she had been through a lot, this pain was actually hurting. She tried her best to look as though nothing was bothering her.[/blockquote][/blockquote][/size]

Hawkstar was fuming by now, his fur bristling angrily and his claws unseathed. His eyes flew open in pure shock and he gaped at Cloudpaw in disbelief. "What?!" he boomed, his lips drawn back in a menacing snarl. "Do you think you're the only one who's lost loved-ones? How dare you blame StarClan for the loss of your family!" he hissed, swiping a massive paw at the ground before him, tearing a clump of grass from the ground. "Cloudpaw, you are a disgrace to my Clan," he spat, his words lingering in the air like a poisonous mist. Without another word, the ThunderClan leader whirled around and stalked off back in the direction of camp, his head hanging below his hunched shoulers and his ears pinned back against his head in fury.

Leafwhisper couldn't believe what happened between cloudpaw and Hawkstar. He stayed by cloudpaw and licked her shoulder. I agree with you Cloudpaw. He said thinking about when he was a apprentice and Lillypaw got taken away by the rouges. He thought Starclan punished him for that.

It took a lot for Cloudpaw to become scared, she was not a cat that backed down, but to see the look she was receiving from the leader, she couldn't help but back up even closer to Leafwhisper. "How dare I blame StarClan? Well who else is there to blame? StarClan have done nothing for me, why should I believe in them? My mother always told me they were stories for kits the elders made up."

[/color] Cloudpaw, now that she felt the comforting fur of Leafwhisper, was able to speak up again. She felt her fur still on end as she argued. His words had stung the she-cat. She was a disgrace? But she thought he was on her side. Looking down to the ground she was trying to control her emotions. Never had she been this upset. Anger was still coursing through her body, but now it was starting to feel like she just couldn't do anything right.

The white apprentice felt somewhat comforted by the lick she received from Leafwhisper, but she was still upset. "You might be the only one who agrees with me. But thank you. For everything."[/color] she mewed. Her eyes glanced up at him and she attempted a slight smile.[/blockquote][/blockquote][/size]

Leafwhisper shook his head lightly to get the thought of lilypaw out of his mind. She must be a rouge now and probably forgotten about the clans He thought.Anytime, Cloudpaw. He said with a purr. Should we stay here and chat or go back to camp? He asked her.

Cloudpaw was lucky she had Leafwhisper in her life, now knowing his true feelings about her. The relationship may seem fast, but to her it was just the right pace. She needed this, and she really did love the tom. "We probably should get back to camp. I hate to say that I'm getting worn down, but with everything that has happened today. I'm pretty much dead on my paws. And I'm sure me not resting is not good for the kits. So if' it's alright with you I'd like to go back to camp."

Leafwhisper purred. Yes, that sounds great and you should eat too, so you and the kits can stay healthy and strong. He said. I really think she should be in the nursery. Maybe I can try to convince her. He thought.
